IAM having the robotic sleeve gastro done on 7/8/20 .
I have a few concerns.
Drinking water. I love water sometimes I drink over 122 ounces a day. I know I can not gulp water but IAM worried about this and started to worry and it is causing some anxiety.
Cleaning the places the robot goes in. How should I clean these so they don't get infected.
Vitamins I have bought them all but IAM unsure if I was correct on some liquid but the multi vitamins are not. Need a link to some liquid ones or grind em up idk what my tummy can take after 2 week plus.
After surgery how is the sleeping what position can I do.
I'm a puss on the pain that is a concern also.
I have googled myself over to this site hoping to get some answers. Least people post and respond here.?
welcome and congrats on your upcoming surgery.
you will be given pain medication and if you use it as directed your pain will e managed.
you can sleep in whatever position you are comfortable. Many find that the use of pillows to prop up on when sleeping on the side helps.
you have time to work on the vitamins after a few weeks of recovery. You levels won't deplete that quickly and your first priority is to avoid dehydration.
rhat brings us to sipping. Most often your new pouch will dictate how much you can drink at a time. Liquids run straight through so you can drink as much as you want. The amount is often limited to an ounce every 15 min to avoid nausea after surgery. As you heal and ongoing you should be able to drink all you like.
the arms and tools of the robot are sterilized so you shouldn't need to clean the incision sites at all. Robotic surgery isn't any different at the surgery site than a human making the surgical incisions.
keep us posted on your progress!

So, started at 243, am 5'7, current weight 129 and holding, give or take a pound on any given day. My issues are of course, loose skin but not enough for insurance to help deal with so to have that removed is all going to be out of pocket. And when I mean loose skin, who knew that the, sorry to the guys, "vahjayjay" would also have loose skin on the outside? Seriously? The only other issue that I have is I still vomit if I eat more than 6-8 bites of food. I mean, it has been 3 years, 3 months and still happening? Makes me very nauseous and finally I just have to go look at the toilet and it is coming up. Like the food isn't going all the way down and so it needs to go somewhere. Happens on almost a daily basis with no rhyme or reason. Have seen the GI doctor who did an EGD twice and stretched my esophagus both times and also did a colonoscopy to make sure there wasn't any other underlying issue. They also did a manometry, not fun at all. They pass a tube a little bigger than a pencil through your nose, all the way down to the stomach. You have to hold it in for 10 sessions and they will tell you when to swallow, causes you to salivate so of course you really want to swallow but aren't allowed or they have to start over. The tech messed up the first time and had to completely start over, wasn't fun. It did show NO peristalsis in 3 of the 10 sessions but that was chalked up to as a fluke. I don't have a large intestine due to NO PERISTALSIS and asked if the 2 could be related but that was blown off. Thinking that at this point I need a new GI doctor.
Have any of you ladies had issues with vagina yeast infections and bacterial infections since losing weight! Since I've had my surgery, I've had mild issues, but persistent enough that they either never fully resolve or I am getting them back to back. I've been to the gyno, and he says I don't have a yeast infection and tests show a low grade bacterial infection. I'm wondering if having loose skin could be an issue. I have loose belly skin, but it doesn't cover my lady area. Also, I figure the loose thigh skin could be a culprit. I just don't know and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. I don't have any skin infections or irritation where the loose skin is, so idk.
if you are in a sexual relationship, your partner could be reinfecting you with yeast every time you have non condom using Sex.
if it is a bacterial infection , you should be given antibiotics till it resolves and if it is often recurring, after antibiotics, A vaginal culture should be done to determine exactly what bacteria it is and the antibiotic that will successfully treat it.
I don't have any advice other than what's already been given, but I just wanted to say that I can relate. I also want to lose eight lbs (I'm now four lbs "overweight", according to the BMI chart). It's really tough when you're normal - or slightly above normal - weight. I used to roll my eyes at normal weight or slightly overweight women who complained about how hard it was to lose five or ten pounds. Now I get it...
I haven't - but your theory sounds plausible. I used to have similar problems under my breasts when I was SMO.
Hi there thanks for the reply you are correct I know I need to cut my calories way back -
my usual day looks like scramble egg or fruit for breakfast - tea
lunch - 1/2 chicken salad sand and Caesar salad
tea
dinner - fish veggie or chicken veggie
I do drink wine I need to cut that out
wine is pure sugar and totally empty calories. Stopping that may be all you need to do to lose.
fruit is also pure sugar and I would stop that and eat meat with the eggs.
leave off the bread as Nd eAt more chicken salad.
leave off the veggies at dinner unless the are very low carb ones and eat more meat.
