I'm sorry I haven't posted in a very long time my stats hw 279 sw 254 cw 215 I'm not super happy with my numbers but I've struggled with Gerd and had surgery 1/29/2018 on my foot. When i had the surgery on my foot i was 202# and when i returned to work 11/12/2018 I weighed a wopping 240# since November I've been working hard to bring my numbers back down. Not happy with my sleeve because of the GERD i did try to qualify for revision surgery but was denied by BCBS of Illinois apparently GERD isn't medically necessary so I've been just trying my best to work through it. On an up note I'm seeing my surgeon again to try to get qualified for revision because of the insufficient weight loss. I have an appointment with my sleep dr to reevaluate my sleep apnea and i do have high blood pressure of which i take meds for. Hopefully I can qualify with bmi 43.5 sleep apnea and high blood pressure. We will see. I'll keep you posted.

During the purée stage, my menu consisted of:
Split pea soup
Tomato soup
SF pudding
Unsweetened apple sauce
Chocolate popsicle (35 calorie as I couldn't find SF)
Puree stage really shouldn't be too elaborate. I had a short list of what i could have upto a halfcup of. The majority of your nutrition should be coming from the protein shakes. Off the top of my head I think I mainly had fat free cream of chicken soup made with unsweetened soy milk (for protein) strained through a strainer. Sugar free jello cups. Sugarfree Popsicle's.

Jen,
listen very closely to me. Nobody, and I mean nobody (even you) was addicted to drinking soda like I was. Not just soda, but Red Bulls (about 2 to 3 a day). I was worried too. When I had the surgery, I didn't want to think about food much less soda in the first few days. Had to force water and food down. Then, my appetite came back but I followed the instructions of nothing to drink 30 mins before/after eating. Don't worry, if you don't follow that, your stomach will let you know and you'll be visiting the porcelain goddess.
What I'm trying to say is that you'll stop drinking soda. If I can do it, you can for damn sure do it too. I'm definitely not one of those follow everything to a T kind of people. But when it came to my diet and how/what I eat and/or drink, something just sort of clicked for me and I follow it as much as possible. You'll be the same way.
You'll be like me almost two months after surgery and amazed at the choices you eat, how much you eat, and how great you're doing on your diet. I promise you! Again, I was NEVER one of those people who followed all the instructions of whatever diet I was on. But something just clicked this time.
By the way, the only thing I drink is water now. Either plain or flavored with Crystal light lemonade. I couldn't think about eating anything without a regular Coke or Sweet Tea at one time.

http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ is a good site for great ideas and recipes.
Smoothies, yogurt, bone broth, tomato soup (any soup strained)sugar free pudding, jello, or popsicles, cream of wheat thinned out. I was on full liquids so I was allowed cottage cheese and scrambled egg. Don't know if that is on your plan or not but was for me.
Hi. New to the group. 2 weeks out. Vertical sleeve. Looking for some puree ideas. Thanks in advance.
If I had a time machine, I'd say yes. My wife and I will be retiring in Florida in the next 3 years to 5 years. Likely buy something soon, but would love my stocks to go up 100% ;)
Good luck and stay safe.

I know exactly what you mean. I am not a big drinker and never thought VSG would make a difference with alcohol like the bypass. WRONG !!! I found out the hard way around 6 to 7 months post op. I am now 2 years out and it is the same as it was 6 t0 7 months out. If you are going to have a few glasses of wine just be careful and make sure you eat 30 min before hand . I would also like to add that there can be transfer addiction from food to alcohol so watch out for that also.
