I had my VSzG in 3015 and lost 135 lbs. Then had to have my gallbladder out and almost immediately regained 30lbs that have taken up permanent residence again. My issue along with that is prior to surgery I NEVER craved sweets and I mean NEVER. Now i ALWAYS crave them. I've tried numerous suggestions and sti have the problem. 5 years out I still have not one bite of fast food or carbonated drinks. My exercise is limited due to chronic pain. I have tears in my eyes as I write this...I was close to having the extra skin on my tummy removed but now I wonder if they will due to the weight gain. Any insight anyone can give me would be very much appreciated.
Propel water does this to me too and ur post is literally the only thing I could find. Did u happen to try it again and see if it was actually the propel that made u sick? So what I have to do in order to drink propel and not get stomach cramps and diarrhea is for each bottle of it I'll pour about 1/8 of propel and 7/8 water. U still get the taste (though not so sweet) and it doesn't make me sick. I tried to be lazy today and just drink the propel as is and yep stomach cramps have started. It's the propel 100 percent
12 post-VSG now.
No pain to complain about. Happy about that.
I will be seeing my doctor for the first time after surgery in 2 days.
Every time I finish eating I am feeling nauseous and lethargic. Is that normal?

Barrett's esophagus is a potentially serious complication of GERD, which stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease. In Barrett's esophagus, normal tissue lining the esophagus -- the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach -- changes to tissue that resembles the lining of the intestine.
Hi all, I posted in the general forum, but then thought it would be best to post here as well... Any help is greatly appreciated. This question is for a friend of mine who is a VSG patient and has recently been told that she is going to undergo a revision to RnY due to being diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. Have any of you had this diagnosis?
Is it like being diagnosed with GERD?
Tried that but did not work for me. Had to add a touch of honey and cinnamon. Quite filling!

For a few months after surgery I had to mix 50-50 flavored and unflavored proteins.
I used a lot decaffeinated coffee and ice to help reduce the sweet taste of some protein shakes. Clear shakes - lots of ice. Making slushies like consistency. Or making popsicles. The frozen don't taste as sweet.
