Hello, I am 5+ years out and would like to switch from the Multi-Vitamin patch, as it is too expensive for me. I use, one multi-vitamin patch, one Vitamin D3 - 50 mcg/2000iu, one Fish oil 1200 mg (includes 720 mg omega 3), one Folic Acid - 400 mcg per day, and one B12 - 500 mcg per week). My labs have been fine. Can I switch to Centrum Silver (I am 60 years old) or Centrum Adult twice a day instead of the patch? Also, do you think it is necessary that I continue the other supplements? (Centrum Silver includes: D3 - 500 IU, Folate - 400 mcg and B12 25 mcg which would be doubled twice a day). I noticed that the Centrum is not really comparable to patch levels and I am getting very confused at this point. (I have moved from Maryland to Florida, so no longer visit my original surgeon and I am not really sure if requirements have changed since my surgery). Thank you!

One more question. (Sorry!) Do the Centrum big, hard pills really dissolve enough to be effective?

I take a double dose of Centrum Silver, plus additional calcium and iron, and my blood work is fine. Generally, you want to shoot for 200% RDA on everything.

It would be wise to get your blood levels checked. Your regular doctor can order the tests and help you go over the results.

Do you take them both at the same time?
