Happy 5 Years Post-Op to Me!
Gwen, congrats! You are seriously an inspiration! One criticism! LOL! Not really a criticism - but, one thing I see a lot of people saying is things like "I have to take advantage of the first 1.5 years which is the honeymoon period when i can lose weight". One of the things that has totally impressed me about YOU, is that you stalled after surgery and then got your ass back in gear and lost in years 3 and 4. You are awesome for doing that - we all know how difficult it is the further you are out from surgery - though not impossible - and you should get major kudos!!!! Hugs to you, and thanks for sharing your successful strategies with us :)
Happy Surgiversary!
Thanks! It does bother me that so many people promote the idea that you can't keep losing weight after a year. I think it can set people up to feel like they've failed and then give up. It's definitely helpful to lose as much as you can early on, but there's no reason to feel like a failure and give up if you don't reach your goal by some arbitrary deadline. :)
