Hair Issues & Possible solution
We have been talking on the "What are you eating Today?" post about hair & thinning, plus what (IF anything) can be done.
I went to see my hair dresser on Friday morning and she added layers which made it look shaggy. So I went back Saturday morning and went even shorter. You can see my scalp on top which for anyone thinking about VSG or any other WLS, it has been like that for about 3 years (PRE -WLS) so don't panic just because of this post!
My hairdresser gave me a product that sounds like a 1980s late night infomercial but I was impressed that it really seems to make a difference. it is called XFusion and it is a loose powder (ala dry shampoo) that you sprinkle on lightly to keep your scalp from showing through.
The pictures are for the girls in the group so they could see what I ended up with. The last is this morning with some styling.

Love the new hairdo!
I used something similar called Toppik hair fibers and it worked really well! You just sprinkle it on your hair and it helps cover the thin spots.
I also used brown eyeshadow on my scalp, which seemed really weird, but helped a lot :)

Thank you!
I think it is very creative! This product cost $35 and I can see not everyone wanting to spend the money. She gave me this one so I will totally use it.

I love it! I think the shorter hair really frames your face perfectly. It doesn't look thin to me at all, either. I know a lot of people stress about thinning hair pre-surgery. I had a bit of thinning, but nothing major. But damn, I would give up hair if it meant feeling this energized and alive, without 150+ lbs, I must say. I hope you feel the same!
Thank you so much!
That was a big reason I wanted to make sure people realized this was a preexisting condition. I didn't want people to think this is a given.
I am so happy with my energy level, lack of painful joints, and being able to do things I thought I'd never do again. Knowing what I know now, I would still have WLS, thanks DC Girl for making that point.
