Good morning! The weather is lovely here and expected to stay that way for a while. Hopefully that will help my mood.

DH is going to adult day care for the first time today. I am going to tell him he is going to a "club" where he will have lunch, play games, listen to music/dance and make his own sundae in the afternoon. I hope he is okay with it. I visited yesterday after hearing how pleased some of the other members of my local support group were. It is $13/hour, though today is free. Not cheap but hopefully worth it. I'll probably use it on a regular basis if all goes well. While he is there, SIL and I are going to a fashion show in which several of our friends are modeling.

QOTD: Where do you see yourself in five years? When I was working this was always asked at each review and of course I answered that I was somewhere up the ladder at work. But now, sadly, I hope my DH will have moved on as he isn't going to get better and I don't see how he can contine going downhill at the pace he is now and still be around or be cognizant of anything. I hope I still have the health and energy I have right now and can come back to Florida (I'm guessing I won't be able to for a while in the interim) and that I can do some traveling. Oh!!! And I'd love to have a grandchild or two!!!!

2 Years 10 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years, 2 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Italian salad and chicken breast with Marsala sauce (at the fashion show)

D: DCGirl's tuna, artichoke salad and feta mix plus cottage cheese

S: sweetened cottage cheese

Good morning. Cloudy, icy, blah day here. But, it's one day closer to the weekend. yay. I have virtually nothing planned except taking the dog for a follow up to the vet. He had an abrasion on his eye - and it is looking so much better. I am hoping she allows him to take off the collar and stop the meds.

QOTD: Liz, your life is probably not at all what you expected at this point. It's a tough road for you. 5 years ago, my husband had spine surgery and every complication known to man. I have to work because he can't any more. Definitely not where I expected to be at this point in life.

In 5 years, I hope to be working part time and watching grandkids on the days I have off! I also hope to take 2 big trips and 2 long weekends away a year. That's my goal!

B: It's bagel day at work. They are the best bagels and I enjoy 1/2 guilt free.

L: being catered here at work - i have no idea what they will get

D: my husband mentioned fish - so maybe some haddock

E: if it's not raining, I'll def walk. Somehow I've been hitting 10K steps a day lately and I'm not really sure how, lol

QOTD: Well, life never goes as planned, does it? I am separated from my husband who, I discovered, was a closeted gay man shortly after my VSG surgery. Funny thing is that I did the surgery in part for him and our marriage, LOL.

In five years, I hope to be in a new relationship with a man who appreciates and loves women. I adore my new body and it has given new confidence and energy to move on and find what I have been missing for much of my life. More traveling, more socializing, more everything.

B: Hard boiled egg with 1/2 container cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning

S: PP drink with cold brew

L: Tuna steak with cauliflower gnocchi, leftover

S: 1/2 container cottage cheese with tsp of low sugar marmalade

D: Steak tips with onions and mushrooms.

Good for you making plans with your new body! My first husband turned out to be gay as well. I didn't know until after we were divorced (after almost 5 years of marriage). It did answer a lot of questions though!

Thanks, Liz.

Damn, they're everywhere, aren't they? I'm sorry to hear that for you, though perhaps divorcing before discovery may be better, I don't know. I know it's been very difficult for me after 22 years of marriage. Fortunately, it did not derail my weight loss any and I reached my goal during a difficult period.

Many, many questions are answered once the truth comes out....

Yep! Many questions answered! BTW, my most wonderful son is gay. He says I have no "gaydar". LOL!

Surprised that I wasn't the only person married to a gay man; he was y dear friend and truly, even if someone had drawn a diagram, I wouldn't have understood. Way beyond my information at the time. He passed in 1991 from Aids. But he was a lovely man.

QOTD: What do I see myself doing in 5 years? Hopefully moved to a one story house with DH, and the dogs. Maybe closer to our oldest daughter, maybe here because we have stupendous docs. I hope we will both be healthy and able to do self care. And that I still haven't cut my hair short.

B: Premier shake in coffe

S: Chobani yogurt

L: Apple chicken salad

Who knows? I picked up a virus at the doctors and feel crappy; going back up to bed.

Oh Annie, I'm so sorry. Yes, it was beyond many of us back then. My first husband also had AIDS and died around 1995. Such an awful disease.

Yes, keep your hair!

Good morning! Let us know how it went at the day facility for DH today Liz. I am glad your weather is good for your daughter's visit on Sunday!(I think it was this weekend).

It is sunny and 12 degrees right now. When I left for work it was 3 degrees and plummeted to -5 by the time I got to town. Taking my mom to the casino today instead of our normal Friday. It is supposed to snow a lot between tomorrow and Saturday night.

QOTD-It is hard for me to see myself in five years. So much of it depends on my mother and uncle's health. If my mother's health continues to decline and she is no longer here, I see myself living in Denver closer to my brother, his wife and three girls. I waiver between wanting a small farm with animals and doing some traveling.

B-1/2 Quest bar, coffee

L-Flax/chia porridge with pecans

S-Hot tea

D-tbd

E-Hike with Emmy if it stays above 15 degrees

Have a lovely Thursday!
