I'm glad your kitty is doing better. But I'm sorry your Dad isn't doing well. It sounds like you are worried that it is more than an orthopedic issue with his increased use of oxygen.

Liz, even though you sound a bit overwhelmed, you're doing well with self-care thinking bout pool time, and posting. Wish i had some magic words to help.

QOTD: What three things do you think of the most each day? Hmmmm. Right now?

1. Mental health - big change in my MDD medication has me way off balance (not bad but off balance) and I'm not sure if this is how "normal" people feel. I mean, it's not "flat affect" but its very quiet in my head.

2. Food & colds - I wandered into the sugar cookie Christmas snack over the holidays, and I think the sugar has contributed to the continual colds I'm getting. Not to mention up 4 lbs. So focus is back to VERY basics for a few days. And put the Hershey kisses where they could not call out to me.

3. Hair - my perpetual bugaboo. It was always long, thick, wavy & black. Then it was chemo gone. Then it was back curlier and black. Then it was chemo gone. Then I bit the bullet of no chemicals on hair and it was silver & salt & pepper and curly. Then surgery/transfusions gone. Now short, growing back and curly. I am not sure who I am in the mirror.

4. My adult-children. They are compassionate and independent, and successful. But I miss them.

5. DH - he's marvelous supportive, kind and losing his hearing a bit more.

As I look at the list, it's really not so much to handle. Just not sure how to approach the quieter brain. I've lived with "brain rain" forever.

B: protein shake and coffee

L: Salad with chicken

S: Chobani yogurt

S: Protein shake

D: Homemade Anderson's split pea soup

Trying for 850 calories with lots of protein for a few days to get back on track.

Grateful for each of you who posts - y'all are in my prayers (and its 20 degrees in NC with freezing rain expected tomorrow.

Interesting really thinking about whether a "quiet" brain is more normal or not. How would any of us know?????

"Brain Rain," perfect way to describe a busy brain Annie! I have been working really hard with meditation to quiet my "brain rain." Deepak Chopra has some good guided ones on YouTube.

Kristi T, we made huge change and my DH is assuring me that most people have a quiet brain. Who knew?

Good morning! Liz, it's good to see you! It sounds like a mental health day at the pool would be good for you today. Get some sun, relax, meditate or anything that helps you gain some positive energy. The sun always works for me. Hang in there Liz, we are all here for you the best we can be in cyber space:-)

My mom has an appointment with her PCP today, when that is over with I think the day will go smooth. The sun is trying to come out. We have lots of snow and it's about 28 degrees, our winter normal. I have a long day tomorrow, a tourism seminar all day then my monthly Bunko in the evening.

QOTD-Probably the first thing I think about upon waking is weather, I am obsessed with weather. Second would be food(what to fix/prepare) and third is a tie between my mom and mental health.

B-1/3 cup granola, coffee

L-Flax seed porridge with pecans

S-Hot tea, string cheese or jerky

D-tbd, probably eating out tonight

E-Walk/hike with Emmy

Have a good Tuesday!
