What Is Your Favorite Seasoning?
I eat steamed vegetables and currently I am using salt to season them. I hate adding salt but I don't know what is good to season those steamed veggies. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

I like spice, and this stuff is really good! I get it at Safeway and put it on pretty much everything.

Funny you should ask..........
One of my New Year resolutions is to start to use more herbs and spices to my cooking. My basic seasonings are salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, paprika and curry powder. I especially like the paprika and curry powder.
When shopping today, I picked up some cilantro. At Thanksgiving time, I bought some sage and thyme because nowhere in this state can I find Bells Seasoning, a must have for stuffing.
I want to start a window garden for some parsley, etc. I also want to start using some wines for cooking.
I'm looking up recipes on line, and have a few to try. I grew up in a home where "If it's Monday, we're having meatloaf, Wednesday is pasta night, etc., and I've sort have carried on the tradition, adding Tuesday Taco night.
For broccoli or brussels sprouts or any veggie that I roast, I add a little olive oil, some salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Super flavorful!
For my cottage cheese, I am obsessed with Everything But the Bagel spice. It is so awesome. It's everything you would find on an everything bagel. It's great on hard-boiled eggs too. It does have salt.
I also love cajun seasoning.
I love Penzeys for many reasons and they make amazing spice blends. Their Mural of Flavor is a great all purpose seasoning and it's salt-free. Although, there's no reason to avoid using salt if a doctor hasn't specifically told you that you need to for certain health conditions.
I like butter, salt, and garlic for veggies. Sometimes a bit of balsamic.

Penzeys has a variety of really good salt free blends. "Florida" is good on veggies, but they have loads of others that would be good too.
