Slow weight loss

Surgery was July 2nd this year. August 14 I had hernia repair/ bowel obstruction surgery and developed pneumonia, hospitalized 8 days. Since then I feel good and am fine. My total weight loss is 47 pounds. In September I lost 7 pounds, in October 4 pounds. I feel like I am doing something wrong! I have read weight loss slows at 6 months, that scares me! calories are generally in the 850 to 950 range. I am getting my water in, and walking 3x weekly. Am I a slow loser? Is this a stall? Am I overthinking this??? I am very appreciative that I am still losing, I just want to optimize my time before that 6 month mark.

Ditto hollykim's question.

Also, how much liquid are you getting?

Are you measuring and tracking everything you put in your mouth with something like MyFitnessPal?

47 pounds in, what, 4 months doesn't seem slow at all to me. That's almost 12 pounds a month average. When was the last time you did that? :)

Definitely post an example of what your menu looks like for a typical day as HollyKim and Gwen suggested. I think 47 pounds in 4 months is pretty great, especially since you had a major medical disruption a month after your initial surgery!!!!

I had surgery at 297lbs, and I am 5'7". My experience was that month 1: -25lbs, month 2: -11lbs, month 3: -11lbs, month 4: -5lbs, month 5: -4lbs, month 6: -8lbs. I was at my Dr.'s office every month freaking out that I was doing something wrong. I was on 500 Kcals and 60g protein and not losing much, and then when I went up to 800Kcal and 70g protein and I started losing more. They told me I might just be a slow loser - there is a reason they say this process can last up to 18 months. Maybe try weight/resistance training, check how much protein you are getting, try varying your cals until you find something that works, or maybe like me you lose slower - and that is ok.
