Snacks
Just, well, wondering- what kind of "snacks " are we talking about? My suggestion would vary depending on actual content of said goodie. For example:
High protein- say, Greek yogurt, or a piece of chicken breast, PB2 powder or such as. Yep, eat and enjoy - then log and count. 2-3 oz over 30 min is fine.
Anything Uber low carb and low calorie- ditto above.
Beware goodies with protein-fat- that are high calories foods. Nuts are nice, so is cheese, or cream in your coffee, but limit portions and, yes, log and count! Make sure you are getting your low calorie protein requirements in first. Run out of available calories for the day? Then forget it.
And, finally- everything else--Have all you want as long as you eat no more than 0 ounces over no time. Save those occasional treats for maintenance, and even then- tread lightly.
Good question, by the way. It is important to think about these things as we make our way down the path to successful, lasting, and healthy food choices. Good luck- eat well.

My plan is pretty specific - 3 meals a day, no snacks. It's rare that I feel a need for food between meals.

I wasn't really hungry. I was just trying to get more protein in without going for liquid calories and protein with so many shakes. I needed something to fill in because most protein sources I've seen are only 14 grams for 2 ounces of it such as any meat, fish, or hard cheese. Nuts have even less protein for 2 ounces. I'm not cleared yet to have pork or beef. I would have to eat 14 grams 6 times to get 84 grams of carbs. I usually can't get that much in because my sleeve doesn't empty fast enough for me to eat solid protein 6 times plus get a decent amount of the ridiculous volume of water in. I just wanted something easy to go down like cottage cheese or yogurt. If I keep the protein meals strictly to 3 times a day at 14 grams each, I can only get 42 grams in. That or less is what usually happens, but I was trying to get extra today. Even if I throw in a shake that will only get me up to 62 grams and take me more than an hour to drink.
