So I'm worried about heading home from the hospital. I don't feel like I'm getting enough liquids yet I was only able to consume 150 ml of soup, 237 ml of boost, and 114 ml of juice in a day I'm still trying to finish my 2nd boost that I've been sipping for 4 hours... I'm only a third through it. But not only that I still get pain everyone I move and I feel stuffed after every sip... they say it's just the gas but no matter how much I'm walking it's not going away.

So sorry you're feeling punk. Continue to walk. It does clear the gas. Also, if you lay on your side with legs pulled up, it helps the gas to move (if you've been pregnant you may have done this one).

Protein drinks count as liquids. Liquids clear the anesthesia and other meds out, so if you can continue it will help. Ice chips count as liquid and soothe the throat and sometimes go down easier.

Hoping you are feeling better when you read this :)

Maybe you have swelling - I had alot of swelling after both lapband and vsg surgery. I would focus on staying hydrated. It will get better.

You can do it. Even if it means swallowing a capful of water every few minutes. Stay on it. If Hydration is everything right now. If you have troubles, stay in contact with your docs offfice.

Try the medicine cup method. 1 medicine cup of fluid every 5 minutes. Use your timer on your cellphones to remind you. That is what I did and it worked like a charm.

Are you still in the hospital? If you're worried, you should definitely ring for a nurse.

I'm officially at home now but I'm still going through H*ll. The nurses chalked it up to bad gas as it's now in my shoulders and upper back. I honestly have no idea how everyone goes through this I've been in tears over trying to get my liquid in, it hurts to take too deep of breaths. I'm honestly not a complainer I went through several major surgeries before this one but this seems to be the worst by far for the recovery. Please tell me this will be over soon.

Is awful how the gas migrated up to the shoulders--that was the worst spot for me. Are you taking your pain meds?

Thankfully yes, I don't know how I would survive without them at this point.
