eggs
hello everyone! Sleeved aug 23 and so far things are going good. My sister had surgery 3 days before me, and I sort of followed her time line for food. I was planning on waiting until saturday as that is my timeline, but I tried what she had and tolerated it with no issue.
Now question, I see so many post their first egg experience and they don't eat it all. But me, I had no problem finishing the whole egg. I didn't eat more. But wondering if that was common with the sleeve? Tonight for dinner I made a one egg cheese omelette and was able to fini**** no issue, no discomfort or pain. Is that normal? I just feel odd because so many on Facebook post they can't even get protein shakes or water targets in, and here i am finishing an egg, drinking my water and protein and having yogurt as well for my lunch. I use my protein shake for my breakfast and sip on the other one in the evening to hit my 60g protein goal.
It does feel good eating again. 2 more weeks and then I can try some meat.
Getting fluid and protein shakes in no issue. From 3 days PO water was no issue and I was able to drink quit a bit but my nut said it was good and I should have no issue with dehydration.
Just a girl trying to become a better ME. Healthier ME. Learning to be happy with ME and love ME. One day at a time.
Diet progressions exist for a reason and you really should follow the timeline YOU were given, not your sister's.
I didn't have issues with eggs either, but I've always preferred my eggs cooked on the softer side.

In addition to what Gwen said, you are also still healing and you won't be able to feel pain or discomfort from overeating because your nerves were all cut and are still not fully healed. DON'T eat more than your plan says to eat at this stage...weigh and measure everything and stick to the plan. It's done to make sure you heal properly, don't get overfull and take a chance on pulling the staple line loose and ending up with a leak and emergency surgery.

The nerves in your stomach have been cut, so you will not feel any restriction until they grow back.
At only a few weeks out, an egg is probably NOT on your surgeon's food progression. If you eat something your stomach is not ready to handle, you run the very serious risk of busting your staple line open and causing serious complications.
No joke, eating an egg before you're cleared could LITERALLY kill you.

OP's plan says no eggs until at least Sunday; that's what counts.
