Spoon
Hard to say, I am like the others what size is that spoon? How full do you fill it? What are you using it to eat? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY are you measuring/weighing your food? ALL that matters is what the food has for protein and carbs and how much you are consuming.

4 oz. of dense meat sounds about right for the meat hopefully you are able to get in a couple of ounces of veggies or fruit also? I would say from what I have found that 4 oz. of meat is what to expect for the long term.

ejdiel,
I had a wls, no longer done,...a combination procedure.. My pouch now holds 5 ounces. and about 4 oz of dense protein is all i can choke down...I am 23 years POST op.!
.My surgeon made us eat for 6 months with "a baskin robbins tasting spoon" , level full and chew each bite 10 times..
.... from that perspective, the spoon looks big, but IT is irrelevant!
It looks and sounds like you have had a successful surgery with a restriction that will enable you to get to goal that you set. chewing the bites 10 times begins the digestion process with saliva and may help, you to not feel overfilled..accurate measuring is absolute must and I think form your posts you have that.
Continue to take care of your new tool. You will have it for better or worse for the rest of your life.
As you reach your goal.. reduce the amount of proteins by an ounce each meal and add healthy veggie you like... but continue to watch the carbs.
Do you have other problems? how is your energy level?(may require a tweak of added carbs if blood sugars are dropping too low....) mentally are you depressed? (if so add probiotics)
what is important is that you chew each bite thoroughly.. get your prescribed amount of protein in,take your prescribed vitamins, drink your fluids and take care of your pouch... and begin monitoring your labs. You need to begin watching for ANY drop in your indications of iron, any changes in your mean cell volumes, Even if they are not in the danger zone, if they are dropping to near borderline levels they should be addressed sooner rather than later. relax. as long as you are loosing and are on track.. don't sweat the small stuff. There will be days -it will be harder to get nutrition in than others. just do your best each day, i will even out. Blessings.

I think you need a better set of flatware.

Have you WEIGHED that 1/4 cup on a scale? If it's dense, it may very well weigh more than 3 or 4 oz.
