Where Does Your Weight Loss Ticker Start?

What's the starting weight that you guys use on your weight loss tickers? Did you put:

A) Your highest weight ever?

B) Your weight before your surgical preop diet?

or

C) Your weight after preop diet on the day of surgery so the ticker will show your true surgical weight loss?

Mine currently shows my weight before my preop diet which is not my highest weight. If I put my starting weight as date of surgery weight, my weight loss looks even more depressing for almost 11 weeks out.

I used my weight at referral which is also my high weight. The process in Ontario is so long and involved (10 months for me), that I put in a lot of effort beforehand and that's the size that my brain sees when it thinks of my body.

I lost 39 pounds on my own, and another 28 pounds on OptiFast. That's 67 pounds that I am proud to have lost, so I feel compelled to count it. It was part of the process so I think it's fair to count.

I started with what i weighed on my first consultation appointment with the surgeon's office in January 2018. I had all my pre-op visits and then I started practicing a high protein/low carb regime on May 1, 2108. I lost 31 pounds prior to surgery on June 5,2018. Since surgery I have lost 34 pound for a total of 65 pounds since starting my journey to a healthy life.

You will see tickers with all three starting places, each person chooses where they want their ticker to start. Personally, I started mine on the day of surgery. Do whatever you feel works best for you in tracking what total you want.

I used my weight I was at while going through supervised nutrition. I actually gained 13 lbs initially and achieved my highest weight during this point. Luckily I was able to get it together and lose 27 lbs before surgery, which I include in my total weightloss.

Use what makes sense as a starting point to you. I used my referral/high weight.
