Not losing weight post op
- I had my surgery on 8/22/18, so I know what you are going through. I started my soft diet 9/5..... liquid phase was the worst!! I had a couple of meltdowns but I have a great supporting family and ward able to get through them. Anyway, I found that Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurt really helped me. They have some really great flavors, and I am not a yogurt fan. Just remember that you went through all of this for a reason and that it's not easy at the moment but it will get better. Don't ru****!! I'm amazed at after just a little over 2 weeks how much my thought process about food had changed.
I weighed about 8 pounds more when I got home from the hospital than when I went in, due to all the fluids they pump you with during and after surgery. Chances are you were the same, and if you are 2 lbs up now, you've probably lost 5 or more pounds in fluid weight since surgery. Stay off the scale for another month, and just do what you're supposed to do. You'll find when you finally do weight, the pounds have come off. Staying away from the scale the first couple of months is the best advice I've seen here...that and sip sip sip, walk walk walk!

You aren't even two weeks post op. Put the scale away for a few days and let your body adjust to the massive changes you're going through. Obsessing over day-to-day changes in your weight is going to stress you out!
Keep pushing the fluids and walking as much as you can. Things will happen if you stick to your plan.
I did weight every day. For me, it was interesting to see how different behaviors impacted the scale. For instance, new or intense exercise will make for a fake "stall" as one retains water to heal muscles. The more water I drink, the more the scale moves. And toward the end of the month, I can count on a few days of very little movement, followed by a good drop (as long as I drink my water!). So basically, I've used weighing as a tool to dial in to what works for me and along the way, it has taught me to not stress because insee the different things that cause fluctuations.
Now I'm trying not to weigh every day, because the science of myself can get tiresome. I still probably weigh more often than many would reco, though.
