Carrying the Weight
My Granddaughter (Ayla, age 27 months) and I went to church this morning. She was fussy, so we stayed in the foyer and she enjoyed walking around. After a while, she asked me to hold her and she fell asleep on my shoulder. As I stood holding her I realized she weighs exactly the same amount of weight I have lost over the past months following the bariatric program diet. Twenty-six pounds! WOW was she heavy!
I am amazed i was ever able to function at that weight, and i am so looking forward to having vsg and losing all the rest of the weight I am carrying like a huge backpack i can never put down! Thank God for this option to become healthier!
They say the best encouragement is to carry something that weighs what you have lost and you did this in a loving way, what a beautiful eye-opener for you!
I have lost about 220 pounds, I was goofing around with my teenage son the other day that weighs like 145 and I lifted him off the ground and about fell out myself from the effort. I can't fathom how I ever survived carrying all that enormous amount of weight around 24/7. It is no wonder my joints were about shot a few years ago.
Had VSG on 9/28/15
Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!
Great realization.
I say I lost a person- a big person.
