Welcome to Friday! It is the last weekend of July, then it will feel like end of summer countdown, which always makes me sad.

We didn't make it to Mamma Mia 2 yesterday as I met an old friend unexpectedly, but we did watch Love, Simon onDemand. A really well done, touching movie.

QOTD: What did you have the most questions about and/or need the most support for either before or after WLS (related to WLS)? For me, at first it was understanding what and how much to eat just after surgery. In the longer term it has been finding foods to satisfy but keeping on plan.

2 Years, 4 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Crab cake appetizer (out to dinner, but already checked out the menu)

S: home-made yogurt

Good morning. Heading off camping around noon today. I hope it is not too miserable - it's muggy and hot. Both dogs are smushy faced and don't fare well in the heat. Often out in the forest it's much nicer, let's hope.

QOTD: Most of my questions were about - how "full" would feel. with the lapband full was very different than the vsg - basically from hungry straight to uncomfortable. Then there were the wonderful "stuck" episodes. God, I don't miss that at all. I find "full" with vsg more satisfying full, although once in a while one bite too much or something that doesn't break down easily will make me uncomfortable. Last night I had some strawberries too soon after dinner (guests for dinner, so early dessert) - and I felt uncomfortable for about an hour until it digested.

B: cheese and crackers, iced coffee

L: heading out to camping - so probably snacks on the fly

D: leftover veal cutlets

E: plenty of walking - getting ready, setting up, etc.

L/V: good

My massage therapist had to reschedule today, so I'm spending a fair chunk of time studying on campus since it's closer to where my lunch date is later on.

QOTD: Probably just the mental health side of things. Figuring out how to exist and be healthy after the initial thrill of surgery wore off. Figuring out how to maintain my own health in the face of everything else going on in life and all the demands existence has.

1: protein bar
2: unclear - going to Indian with my BFF and I know they've changed up their menu recently, so I'll see when I get there
3: some form of egg roll in a bowl. I'm picking up ground pork and mushrooms on my way home, plus I've got cabbage and a few other random veggies in the fridge.

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: zenga class

Happy Friday!! I just finished therapeutic yoga and I feel wonderful. I'm so grateful to be in a pretty healthy body now, able to enjoy movement again and I am especially thankful to be back to yoga.

QOTD: Almost all of my concerns/questions/fears were and are around preventing regain. I've read about a thousand posts on this forum alone on regain experiences and advice.

B - coffee and protein

L - yogurt and almonds

D - Sea bass and squash

S - 3/4 cup halo top pb ice cream (the 2nd time I've had it in 4 months, not something I'd do regularly)

Yes, that's a big concern of mine too and why I rely on OH so much. Looking for satisfying foods to keep on plan is kind of the mechanical side of avoiding regain.

You're right! And OH has been so helpful. I really didn't think I would end up posting here every day but you guys have so much info and insight, it's been an important part of the journey for me. :)

Happy Friday! Can't believe July is almost over. I'm getting stir-crazy in the house and tired of cleaning up after everyone all the time. I feel like the maid without getting paid ugh!

QOTD - I got pregnant 16 months after surgery. I had already lost 100 lbs but I was scared to death I would gain it all back. I was told I couldn't have any more children so it came as a huge shock and no one seemed to know what to tell me to do so I didn't regain. So here I am trying to lose it all again. Wish there would have been more support for me.

B - coffee and chocolate peanut butter protein

L - shredded buffalo chicken

D - Tilapia fish tacos

S - homemade "cheese chips"

E - 30 min elliptical, ab exercises

I was about 180 when I got pregnant with my first and the doc basically said I didn't have to worry about gaining any weight. Uh, guess how well that worked

Hey, are you able to share your homemade "cheese chips" recipe?

I get Sargento Ultra Thin cheese (any flavor but I really like Mild Cheddar and Pepper Jack). You cut each slice into 4 pieces. I put it on parchment paper for 35 minutes on 250 degrees. They are a little more chewy than an actual chip but really good.
