Whatcha Eating Today, VSGers? Monday, July 2, 2018

Hello everyone! I've gotten out of the habit of posting here since my plastic surgery - first I had to eat a ton to stop losing (healing that much takes a lot of calories), then I just felt depressed because my healing has been so slow so I was eating what I want, which isn't good behavior modeling. I was just beginning to feel like myself again (but still have incision openings @#$!?) and I landed in the hospital last week with a huge pulmonary embolism. I'm glad to be alive, but it makes meal planning low on the list of priorities. And the hospital diagnosed me as anemic despite taking a ton of iron. So I hear from my doctor about next steps on that and my clotting stuff on Thursday. So that's me in a nutshell the last 2 months!
QOTD: I used to wear a gold bracelet 24/7 I got in NY with my friend, but had to take it off for surgery and haven't gotten around to putting it back on. And I wear an Apple watch. I just ordered the least unattractive medical alert bracelet I could find for my new blood thinners as my current anxiety is getting in an accident and not being able to tell anyone I might bleed to death.
Anyway, I am still focusing on protein, but eating too many treats.
B - turkey sausage, egg white, cheese sandwich
L - salmon, broccoli, cauliflower "rice"
D - mussels
S - bagel thin with peanut butter, peanut m&ms, pineapple
Good Morning All - Just dropped DH at the train station and enjoying a hot cup of tea in my pajamas :) Have a couple of things to get done today but thankful our Service Board meeting was moved to yesterday. So just a counselling apt after I finish work and home to cook. I finally got to stocktake and clean out my pantry - its been annoying me since we moved back in here. All the shelves are deep and you have no idea whats in there. All containers now sorted and labelled and tins organised. Real sense of achievement.
QOTD: Whilst I have a lot of jewellry most of it sits unworn. I wear my wedding and diamond engagement rings plus a beautiful celyon sapphire with diamonds DH bought me for my last birthday - currently all on the same finger as I have lost so much weight they need to be made a lot smaller. One came off at the farm the other day - Im thankful I felt it leave my finger whilst lifting hay bales! Also have started wearing the sapphire n diamond ring my parents gave me for my 21st. Also Diamond Studs and a diamond circle necklace - presents from DH. Finally a solid gold bangle from my sons. So guess most of my loved ones are acknowledged x
B: Zuchinni Loaf with homemade beetroot relish
L: TBD - Maybe Ham and avocado with some cheese?
D: Tuna Mornay with Pasta
Have a wonderful summer evening all :)

Hey all! I have been working my tail off after getting up from sleep after work. Part of the home is being redone, so I went and cleaned all the bedrooms out being redone, scrubbed them from top to bottom, have been repainting and rented a rug doctor to shampoo the carpets. Used to think my carpets were clean, until now ofc! The difference is sort of insane, and I'm so happy I did it! The rooms will end up beautifully and one will be an office for my computer and a desk to study when I start school.
QOTD: I wear my fitbit every day and night, only take it off to charge and shower. I also wear a cross I bought myself, it is white gold with two opal hearts. It is the first thing I bought myself when I started working and I love it, I love opals in general, they are my favorite stone. I often also wear a solid gold penguin necklace that my grandmother bought me when I was 16. I love it.
Am lazy tonight, no screen shot since I'm not at the pc typing this.
Breakfast - Premier protein with pb2
Lunch - Hamburger with cheese in my low carb pita
Dinner - Chicken with my general tso's sauce I bought from Aldi
Snack - Dannon light and fit lemon meringue (mmmmm)
Water is low, but I'm working on it!

Time is just going by too fast. Love your deck, Liz! I have a really pretty deck too, two levels, and my husband loves flowers so it's got flowers all over it. I need to spend more time on it...when summer gets here. HA! We had a week or so of summer, hopefully that's not it for the year.
QOTD: I quit wearing my wedding set when my fingers got so fat. I bought a plain band with a tiny diamond when I was in Turkey...Turkish men are SO aggressive, especially if you're not wearing a wedding band. I'm going to buy a new set (with chocolate diamonds) when I reach goal (rather, my husband is!) HAHA All my diamond jewelry was stolen when we got burgled a few years ago. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth...I had some really nice stuff. Currently I just wear my fitbit, and occasionally earrings if I remember while I'm getting ready for work. It will probably change as I lose weight...I have a lot of beautiful necklaces...but I don't wear them because it feels restrictive on my neck.
Today I bought the Bird's Eye Vegetable pasta. Oh my GO**** is so good, better than pasta! I've added a serving of that, a turkey sausage link and some shredded zucchini to a serving of Eggface's Ricotta Bake...turned it into at least 2 servings with few calories. Can't wait to try it!
I love your deck! I love the look of wood, but I wanted something we wouldn't have to replace at this point (plus we have 2 small porches in the front which are in the same material).

Yeah, it definitely needs maintenance. Husband strips and reseals it every summer.
I wish I would have gotten the same material you did, Liz! At least on the flooring part of it.
QOTD: I don't own a whole lot of jewelry, and the stuff I do, I usually only wear for certain occasions. The exception to that is my fitbit, and usually a necklace with a rose petal in rosin I was given for my birthday by my best friend a couple years ago.
Still only a week out of surgery now, but so glad I'm able to ge****er down with some regularity and am no longer teetering on the edge of dehydration.
B: 4oz protein shake (fairlife milk, optum vanilla ice cream whey protein)
L: oikos triple zero Greek yogurt
D: prob another yogurt or protein shake. Still slowly working towards the protein goal for this phase. My attempt at mixing unflavored protein powder with yogurt was...less than successful, so I'm not keen on trying to mix it into soup either.
