I love mashed cauliflower! I've been eating that instead of taters for quite awhile.

I used to make it with sour cream and cream cheese, but I've found that using Plain Fage yogurt is even yummier!

That sounds so good! I'm totally filing that away...

Good afternoon I was curious of what you mention about if she skip the purée stage, I haven't had my vsg surgery until July 9 but they already gave me my diet for week 1,2,3&4 and the 2 first weeks if just liquids and thicker broth or soup on 3 week and purée at week 4 but no where does it tells me about protein shakes, I hear shake shake shake and my doctor doesn't mention anything for the first 4 weeks

The liquid stage tends to be protein shakes. That's the liquid.

How recently have you had surgery? If your stomach is still healing, you will not feel any restriction as the nerves have been severed-- no matter how much you eat.

That is a lot! Be careful, we don't have the same feeling inside as we did before. Though that roll up is really pretty! Better than my lazy ham and cream cheese roll ups.

Is it really a lot? Looks like a baby plate and a baby fork with 1 oz slice of ham, two tiny cauliflower florets and two small green beans. If it was puréed together, it looks like it would be a 1/4 cup. Definitely it would be too rough for me, because I'm on puréed.

One thing is, deli meat is not great for any of us. Not trying to shame anyone..but lots of sodium and nitrates generally aren't great regardless of if you've had WLS or not. Sorry to be "that person". It's just that it seems like quality nutrients are more crucial for us, since we eat so little now.

This isn't true. Unless you're on a specific sodium restricted diet for medical reasons, sodium isn't a problem for the majority of people. In fact, it's often the case that people need to add salt to their foods after WLS due to eating fewer processed foods.

Deli meat is an awesome choice, especially earlier out, because it tends to be softer and more moist, therefore easier to eat.

Yeah, I guess I'm more worried about the cacinogenic nature of processed meat vs. the sodium. All things in moderation, of course.
