Will I be able to enjoy my 5th year anniversary?
Hi I'm queen. I have my 5th year anniversary coming up with my husband and I just got the sleeve 06/05/2018. We are going to this very expensive restaurant who is known for their chicken Alfredo pasta and everyone knows I love chicken Alfredo pasta. Our anniversary and they day we are going to the restaurant is July 2, 2018. Will I be able to eat and and enjoy at least a Little of the food and my anniversary?
On my information it's says I will be introducing my body to solid foods 4 to 5 weeks out from surgery. I will be on soft foods my 3rd week and on my 2 well full liquid and my first is clear liquid.

In general, from now on, your enjoyment of a special event can't be mostly about the food. It's important to change your mindset and try to primarily enjoy the company/environment/conversation. At 5 weeks out, if your program allows solid food, you will be able to have a few tiny very well chewed bites of the chicken and none of the pasta.
At a month out, you'll likely still be on soft foods. Check out the menu ahead of time and see what will work for that. You might even contact them to let them know your food restrictions to be safe.
Enjoy the evening. Enjoy being with your husband. :)

If you mean can you eat chicken alfredo pasta? No. That's a terrible idea. But you should be able to find something you can have to eat. It's likely you'll still be eating 1-2oz of weighed food, so very little and it will need to be soft protein.

Chicken alfredo pasta is NOT an appropriate food after WLS. Maybe a bite or two after you reach goal on a very special occasion. During the weight loss phase, it is recommended to keep carbs very low, so pasta is Not a Good Choice.
At five weeks out you will still be healing. You will probably be on "soft foods" like scrambled eggs, very moist ground chicken with sauce. If you pu**** and try to eat noodles, it is very possible that you could rupture your staple line and suffer life-threatening complications.
As much as you may love chicken alfredo, it's time to learn to say no.

Hi, there. We got surgery on the same date. Around the time you're talking about is around when I'm transitioning to "soft foods". One of the stated goals for this stage is to slowly introduce new foods, while not comprising sleeve, and avoiding dumping syndrome. If you're on the same plan, pasta is a really bad idea. It can swell in your stomach. Further, it is easily and quickly digested, which means a bunch of sugar/carbs will hit your system alll at once. Not everyone with a sleeve gets dumping syndrome, but do you want to find out during your anniversary dinner? I understand how you feel--I have trips coming up and keep thinking about all I won't be eating--I feel loss about it, but I chose this. If it's a nice restaurant, I bet you can arrange something nice for you to try. Or maybe you can postpone the dinner until after you've hit your goal as a treat? Also, people keep saying tastes change after VSG sometimes...maybe you won't even like chicken alfredo anymore. Anyway, best of luck and happy anniversary. You have many ahead.

Shrimp ****tails have been one of my favorite meals even before surgery, so I never shy away from ordering one! I just like shrimp, don't even need the ****tail sauce.
