Everyone recovers differently, so it's hard to give you a for certain answer. In general, most people tend to take 2 weeks off work. You might feel the need for a nap in the middle of the day after that, you might not. You might feel great to go back to work after 3 days.

Thank you for the information, I know it is a major surgery and my biggest fear is the stomach pain and as much as I been asking I do t understand the answer I get; I mean everybody tells me that they don't feel no stomach pain it's more about the vomiting, acid reflect and feeling very uncomfortable. I know for everybody is different.

You shouldn't be vomiting after surgery and your pain should be managed with pain medication. There is excess acid initially, but that should be managed with a PPI. Most likely you'll feel tired, since it is a major surgery. The incision sites can be sore, but pain management should mitigate any actual pain.

Hello. I had my vsg done with hernia repair on May 22nd. I personally had a lot of pain. I'm still on 1 T1 twice a day. The pain is getting better. As for me my surgeon took me off wor****il June 25th. Not sure how he guessed but I've had a hard time. I just tonight was able to get down 1/2 cup of cream of wheat. Yogurt goes down good and cream of mushroom and cream of butternut squash soup. I've tried quite a few soups to try to get something down. So this is my story. I'm the odd ball of the group. I honestly have no energy at all. Calorie count is now between 300 to 400 daily and that's a struggle but is getting better. When I go back to work I'm going to ask for a very slow progressive plan. What I've learned is TAKE YOUR TIME and don't compare yourself to anyone else . This is my body and my recovery. If you need the extra time to work everything out and you can than do it. I hope all goes well for you!

Thank you so much for your information, I am glad your felling better. May I ask what kind of stomach pain do you have what do you feel and what does 1 T1 mean?

Sure. T1 equals Tylenol 1. Stronger than extra strength. I was on morphine and OXY. Felt horrible. Pain was deep in the stomach. Stl radiating from the same areas but much better. Trick is to take meds before pain starts coming back.

Yup DEFINITELY happy with it! Down over 27lbs already and my feet already don't kill me. It's been a really struggle for me personally but I'd do it again if I had to. I want a better healthier body. ?

SKimster,...

Hang in there, You are right everyone progresses differently..take your time. Follow the instructions you were given.

I had a hard time at week 2-4 as well ... my calorie count (250)and proteins were too low. as soon as i could get them up, my energy improved.I also added one serving(2oz portion carb over 2 meals) . I tried but did not care for,.. putting protein powder in instant potatoes for the first stages..best option for me was.... I put protein powder in low calorie hot cocoa mix..with a pouch size of 45 cc, it took me 2 hours to get it in. ( i used 5 oz of water to concentrate it a little- instead of 6-8) ..THis was a rx'd protein Drs clinic recommended. If you go this route, just make sure the carbs are LOw in the one you get...or it could make you hungry.
