Two years today

Today marks two years since I started my bariatric voyage. We - my wife and I - attended a seminar two days before. I signed up for an appointment that night. I knew I had to do something. Despite her trepidations, she supported me. We had two friends who died going through this, so it was scary. I began the three month pre-op program that night.

Two years later, it is all good. I am way thinner, almost bony, despite the numbers assigned to my weight. At 263 lbs and a BMI of 35,some consider me still obese. I have been fat shamed on this very board, but I know the truth. My surgeon says I am "hitting it out of the park", and "very few people enjoy the degree of success you have". I am working very hard to make sure that continues.

We are told everyone fails. That is true. We all do. It is how you react to failure that makes the difference. Do you give in and let it beat you? Or do you resolve to begin again the next day and win? Winners fail. They just don?t quit. I am doing it. I will continue to do it. So can you.

Thank you all! I have had many wonderful and varied experiences in my 59 years, but the last two have been amazing for the way things have changed in my life. In many ways I feel like I have regained my youth again.
