Good morning all! I've still been feeling a little out of it, it's been like a week long case of the Mondays. Just feeling a little down and unmotivated. This week my goal is to focus on getting back into a solid routine at work and I've been snacking this past week, so I'm cutting that back out completely. I'm also doing a headspace meditation series on motivation.

QOTD: I know you said "besides the heat" Mersh, but I seriously cannot stand being out in our crazy hot, very humid weather unless I'm in the water. I tend to hide from the heat all summer. It's oppressive here.

B - coffee & protein

L - yogurt & almonds

D - ?? My fridge is still bare (Part of my blues lately I think)

Morning! Holy crap its been a busy morning at work. The first day of summer orientation for new students. Oy.

QOTD: I love the heat. The hotter the better so far. I'm not sure I'll love the humidity when it kicks in. Also, in NY I hate mosquitos and black flies. I think we'll avoid those this year in an apartment complex because they spray for them.

Accountability: I was good - However i was so disappointed. I spent the day fishing on Simcoe yesterday with a friend, we did very well. And being on a fishing boat there are always donuts, Pop, candy, and everything else i cant eat.. But alas, there was a bowl of fresh fruit , Pineapple and Strawberries. I haven't eaten fruit that is fresh ( fruit cups yes) in 3 months - So i helped myself to some fruit. I took 3 cubes of pineapple and half a strawberry - Boy where they ever good - fresh and crunchy and oooo so good. i could have eaten more but controlled my urge to go back for more. I had a good sleep and woke up and weighed myself.. I put on 1 pound. i have been really vigilant to keep the straight and narrow.. So my assumption is the fruit, its the fruits fault.. was it worth it , yup.. i chatted to my wife and she said it was a healthy "cheat".. so ill work a bit more to loose the pound this week...

My pursuit for protein today is.

B - Vanilla protein Shake

S - slice home made roast beef

L - 1\2 can tuna in water, with cottage cheese

S - Skyre Yogurt

D - poached chicken breast with Catalina style salsa in trailer preparing for camping

S - Slice NF cheese

MFP says

Protein 81

Carb - 11

Fat - 7

In no way did fruit put on an actual pound of weight. It's jus****er and normal fluctuations. I've had to learn to get over scale issues.

Mosquitoes are also on my "con" list of Summer things but at the top are sever allergies. As soon as the sun comes out, I'm worthless. lol I've been getting allergy shots for 20 years, but still super allergic to pretty much everything out side that's green, has four legs, and pollinates.

Still low carb'n it but must admit that I cheated BIG this weekend. Went to a grad party for my neighbor's daughter and there was a whole bar of sweets (cupcakes, cookies, cake). I had a moment of weakness but no regrets. I figure it's out to indulge every now and then. :)

Congratulation Mersh on the new job! To get rid of gophers my grandmother (born in 1887) used soda pop glass bottles, she'd find a hole or hill and then poke them in by the top, I guess it makes a sound underground that way and they move away... not sure if it would work with plastic bottles the same, but might be worth the try. Just turn it upside down and shove the top in about a couple inches.

Holy shiznit!! Quit my job today! Have been unhappy in it for a while, and after sitting in the bathroom at work last Wednesday and crying, I knew it was past time to go. The summer camp I worked at last year had wanted me to come back this summer, so I contacted them, and I start Saturday!! I'm so excited. Also going back to school to get the 6 more hours I need to substitute teach. That's what I wanted to do all along, but the money at the new job diverted my focus. Well, no more. I am too old to be unhappy at my job, and I've come too far with this journey not to make the most of it and be the best and happiest person I can be!!

To quote Steve Jobs "If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?" The answer was no, so I quit!

On a more fun note, a friend treated me to a weekend in St Louis and backstage access with the crew to see Three Dog Night in concert for their 50th Anniversary tour. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! I didn't get to meet the band, but I spent a couple of hours on the tour bus with crew, and they got my vintage album signed by the band...I was fangirling SO BAD! lol Such a fun time!!

QOTD: I hate humidity, and wasps/hornets/yellow jackets/horseflies, and all other flying/stinging/biting insects of summer!!

B: Yogurt w/peanut butter, coffee w/cream and xylitol

L: Turkey snack sticks, Swirls cheese sticks, sliced zucchini

D: Probably a hamburger with cheese and bacon and either more sliced zucchini or some steamed broccoli with LOTS of butter :)

Water and vites on track

E: Chillin'
