This is where I will jump into this discussion. Many of us follow other WLS boards. The "WLS rules" are basically the same for all surgeries. I had RNY but maybe I can help others or learn something from a VSG'er. You posted on the main board, decided that someone was negative (they were not, by the way), and came over to the VSG board to "tattle". Nobody "followed you over" to "continue this". You created the drama all by yourself.

Once again you have gotten upset over a comment that was not personally negative to you. Someone gave you sound advice from their own experience. You read motive into that comment and you got hurt. I've had this discussion with you before. I told you the last time that, on a public forum, you need to take what you can use and disregard the rest. You responded that I was right and you needed to grow a thicker skin.

There is a lot of vets on this site with vast amounts of experience. We come to OH daily to pay it forward. I personally have been here for 11 years. I had my original WLS in 1986 and was revised in 2010. I have been through multiple complications. I know how to fail at WLS and I know what it takes to succeed. How many of these people will come to your aid if you develop a reputation for getting offended over advice given?

Nobody likes a tattletale or a forum nanny that tells people how they must respond. Is that really how you want to interact here? You need to think about that.

ETA: The deleted post above was a double post...oops.

Lovely post, Rocky.

I'd like to add that while the block function is a handy tool, if you block everyone that you perceive to be negative, you can greatly diminish the value of this site. When you eliminate the voices who have experienced a range of post-op developments, you may eliminate the one person who can be of most value. Sometimes we learn the most from those we initially have confrontations with.

Thanks for sharing your personal struggles, for you to admit that you know how to fail at WLS should be an eye opening comment for any new members. In my early stages here I felt the Vets were all successful with zero issues or complications that were rubbing into the faces of those that did not succeed. ( interpretation). I spent time away and read this Forum from top to bottom and realized I was wrong! Congrats on your success and Thanks for sharing.

Many of us read and contribute to posts throughout the OH site. Just because I haven't had plastic surgery, or a revision, or a VSG or DS, or live in Canada, doesn't preclude me from participating in those forums. I appreciate gaining and sharing the full breadth of WLS knowledge.

Well, I don't still have my original fat clothes, just my current fat clothes.

My closet contains 3 sizes of clothes because I can need that many sizes in one year. I've had and lost regain 10lbs more times than I care to remember. However, at this point, I'm 6lbs from my goal ... again, having lost 36 lbs this year.

There are rare unicorns who don't gain anything, but most of us do - just like people who haven't had WLS.

My MIL was a size 6 all her life, but is now a 10 - having changed nothing! If you can get through your 50s, 60s and 70s not gaining a pound, you deserve a unicorn title.

My least favorite clothes are those jeans at the bottom that rise up and make me think they fit.

I think a big difference in dumping your plus woman's size clothing (14/16 and up in my mind) and hanging onto your "normal sizes". I had dumped anything, as soon as big early out and had only 2 and 4 size jeans /small and medium tops. Rebought 6, 8 and 10 with some regain starting around year 7 thru9. Fitting back into 8 and some 6"s but will keep my 10's that are now big this time around.

We all wish you well not trying to be a downer just offering our experience.
