Calories consumed post-of during purée phase?
I didn't eat 700 calories per day until I was probably...3-4 months post op? I was eating 250-400 calories during purees. I hit 'solid food' at 4 weeks and that's around the time I could hit 400-500 calories per day.

That is a very high calories intake for someone just 10 days post op. Not sure what you are eating to get the 700 calories.
Concentrate on proteins, proteins proteins. Most people in the first month where ,app 400-500 calories per day.
Remember that during surgery they cut the nerves so you may be overeating without realizing that. During first few months it is important to measure everything we eat and stick to the 2-3 oz of food at a time.

Hi Hala,
Great advice, thank you. So, I use my fitness pal to track my food intake. However, after reviewing Erin's response, I went back and reassessed my food journal. Yes, I'm eating the standard purée/soft foods (tbsp. Cottage cheese, puréed soups, etc.) but I discovered I miscalculated qty. & amounts. What I had entered was much greater than what I actually consumed. That explains why the calories appear higher than they are.
Good job. Just make sure carby stuff like "creamed soups" are sporadic in your diet.
Even now, I look at cream of soup, check the ingredients, then put it back on a shelf. Even now - when I want to indulge- I pick a piece of good quality chocolate, rather than starches in the soups.

I found Montezuma's brand Dark Chocolate Absolute Black with Cocoa Nibs at Trader Joe's. It's 100% Cocoa solids and so good! A serving is 25g and it's 150 calories, 14g fat, 3g protein, 6g carbs (4 from fiber, 0g from sugar).

While losing weight, there is no such thing as eating too little. All of that stuff about eating more in order to lose faster us just crap.
