Whatcha eating Today VSGers? Sunday, 5/6/2018
Good afternoon! Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week and it was a true struggle. There were doughnuts and goodies EVERY DAY. I abstained got the most part, but I did give in and nibble at a fruity pebbles treat one of my kids made for me one day. One day, one of the booster clubs made turkey meatballs with sides, so that was a good one :-)
HOWEVER! My sweet Book Club kiddos surprised me with an edible arrangement and a big bag of letters, cards, and healthy snacks. They filled it with the stuff they see me eating now (peanut butter, apples, beef jerky, tuna, etc.) I bawled like a baby. Keep in mind, 80% of our kids receive free lunch and we are in the middle of nowhere, MS. The closest edible arrangement place is an hour away, so their thoughtfulness and love really touched me. I've loopedd up with the same kids for the past three years (8th, 9th, 10th), so they saw me at 400 lb and they see me now. When they tell me how well I'm doing, for some reason it means so much more.
I'm looking forward to a Todrick Hall concert with friends tomorrow night. I am also excited about taking a personal day for Tuesday. I need the sleep the next morning and my kids need the brain break before their state test anyway. I'm hoping to get the exercise bike my brother is giving me moved to our house somehow AND I want to find some type of regular summer fitness activity. I take walks on my own, and I do some toning videos. I think a group activity would be fun though, and I'm supposed to be working on being more social in real life.
QOTD: My favorite vacation ever would have to be my honeymoon. My wife and I took a few weeks off and traveled through Virginia and Tennessee. Then, we stayed in NYC for a week and DC for a few days. My dream vacation is a three-week multi-city extravaganza that I've planned multiple times on a variety of sites. It includes Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Amsterdam. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to take this until we are a little bit older. Right now, all the money we can save is going towards the down payment and our future baby. Sperm is quite expensive when you have to purchase it from a bank! Haha!
Wow. I see that I've prattled on a little too much! Sorry!

on 5/6/18 2:25 pm - Amarillo, TX
QOTD: my favorite has to be the last vacation with my grandparents...the final destination was Billings, MT.
We we took the long way from Amarillo to Yellowstone then to Billings. My grandpa was a WW ll vet and had seen so much of the world...from north Africa, Italy, the Alps and so much more! But he had never been to Yellowstone. It was pure amazement for him. It wasn't busy as the popular season had ended. Watching him see all this stuff was my best experience...ever. Of course then when we left we had to go over bear tooth pass with our brake light on....my grandparents were preparing to meet Jesus and they let us know that. The eastern exit was closed for a fire.
goodness I miss those folks.
second place would be the Canadian Rockies!
