Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Saturday, May 5, 2018

Good morning sleevers! I'm super sore today after all the work I did gardening. I have to admit, I did not have the get up and go that I thought I would. Through the day I felt so tired and worn down. Had to take a nap. The nap was lovely, but I was so tired. When I got up I spent a couple of hours at the museum.
Today I am trying to eat a bit more calories for the next week maybe. I weighed myself this morning and will weigh again in a few days and see if there is an increase, or a level out. My surgeon wants me to go up some in calories, so I'm appeasing his wishes for a bit and seeing what happens. I'm also hoping that maybe some extra calories will do wonders for my energy, because I'm too tired all the time.
QOTD: With Mother's day coming up in the near future, do you have any plans with either your own mother, or that you have with your children?
I bought my grandmother a Fitbit like mine because she loves it and she has the old very basic one, one of the first styles made! I also bought a band for it in her favorite color with flowers on it. We'll also be going to the zoo at some point, likely before mother's day at some point though, maybe sometime this weekend actually!
Oops, forgot to add my vitamins in my log. Don't worry, I'm taking them!
My mother is gone, and I never had kids, so Mother's Day is usually just a day to mourn her passing. However, this year my sisters and I have decided to do something special to honor both our parents.
On May 12, we are all going to get tattoos! My very first (and pretty sure only) one ever. My baby sis has it already on her foot, and my other sister and I are going to get matching ones on the back of the shoulder. I don't have a pic but I'll post one later if I can find it. It's a yellow rose in honor of our mother (her favorite flower), with a broken heart under it for my dad. He was a professional firefighter in Creve Coeur, MO, (which means broken heart), and their emblem is a broken heart. So that's what I'm doing :)
As for today's menu...I have a miserable sinus infection/raw throat/stuffy head/headache blech that I've had for 4 days. Today my head is so stuffy I can't smell or taste anything. So today's menu will be the following:
B, L, D: Either hot or cold chewy stuff, washed down with either hot or cold wet stuff.
Water and vites on track
E: Getting out of bed
I got a tattoo after my dad died that is connected to him in my brain. It's an abstrac****er color sleeve on my left forearm, so it's not obviously connected to him in anyone else's mind, and I'd have a hard time explaining how it's connected to him. But it just is.

Here's my new tattoo (on my shoulder blade). It wasn't too uncomfortable to get and already seems to be healing up (no weeping even though I just had it done Friday). It is to honor my DD who passed away 13 years ago. Her name in the middle is in her handwriting. The picture is a little distorted because I had to take it myself over my shoulder. Hopefully I can have DS take a better one today.
