May 2017 Sleevers

it will be a year for me on May 4. Hard to believe. I was wondering how other May 2017 sleepers are doing. I think my weight loss is over at this time. I fluctuate between 137 and 138, and was 140 after my business trip last week, from being in lots of business lunches and dinners. Too much food and too much salt! But on track again. I wish I could lose down to a stable 135, and maybe I will. Things mostly good, still get tired easily, and worst is that my interest in food, hunger, and ability to eat have increased. I loved it when I got full from eating nothing! Now life is like pre-surgery. I have to watch my amounts very carefully, measure and weigh, and of course not eat things that are on the no list. I am happy wearing nice clothes, happy feeling lighter, glad I am presumably healthier without extra pounds. Wish I was less wrinkly and droopy but that's life. I think it's sad that insurance doesn't cover plastic surgery post VSG routinely. After all, it really isn't good to have all that skin hanging everywhere. Bad for morale, comfort, and movement. That is my soapbox moment, I guess many of us feel that way!

My VSG was 5/22/17. I am also doing good! Down from 260 lbs to 148. Hoping to get to 145 (normal BMI) by my one year anniversary in a few weeks. I went from a size 18 to a size 4 in pants, XL to a XS in shirts. I work out regularly and feel way more healthy and fit. My weight loss slowed a lot since February, but I am still loosing a couple pounds a month so I am ok with that. So far I have been lucky to have minimal loose skin. I still track everything I eat and follow a pretty good low carb high protein diet. I do find that I am creeping around 1000 calories per day instead of the 800 calories I would have near the beginning. Good to hear how you are doing! Keep up the great work!
