Whatcha eating Today VSGers? Tuesday, 4/24/2018
Good morning, all! I've got a busy morning plan, starting with physical therapy for my neck and followed by getting my permanent crown put in. The crown was scheduled for next Tuesday, but it came in a week early! Woo. After that I'm back home for the rest of the day and I'll be getting as much work as possible done on my "older adult interview" assignment for my Gerontology class. I made some good progress on it yesterday, so hopefully I can finish up the rough draft if I stay focused today.
QOTD: What takes up too much of your time? (I'll answer in a comment.)
1: protein shake
2: some form of leftovers depending on what sounds interesting when I get home from the dentist and what my mouth is up for - hopefully lamb stew since it's the oldest!
3: eggs baked on grits with bacon and tomatoes; skillet roasted bacon brussels sprouts with garlic cream sauce (A carbier meal than normal. I'll stick to the protein parts primarily.)
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: physical therapy!
How about you?

Good morning Gwen and all VSGers! We have sun and 60 degrees again today. More explorations for Justice (and us). Of course, that is after I take our other very elderly chihuahua to the vet. I'm interested to hear what they think about her because she looked terrible when we got home last week but perked up a lot with the younger guy here.
QOTD: When I'm here at Cape Cod, watching TV takes up too much of my time. With the warmth in Florida, we would walk later in the evening and sit on the lanai. Here it is still cool enough that after dinner we are plunking in front of the TV (not good). In addition, doctor/dentist/vet appointments take up way too much of our time. Especially since DH's neurologist and clinical trial appointments are in Boston which is a 1.5 hour drive on a good day.

Gwen, I'm turning 66 if you need gerontology info, lol!
QOTD: What takes up too much of your time? I've been retired on disability for 11 years; but no one thing takes up a disproportionate amount of time. I am a *****a ha) OCD, so make a daily list still of what I would like to get done or have to get done. I have a great deal of flexibility, other than some classes and volunteer commitments.
I do tend to get hyperfocused if I am doing research for someone, or genealogy for them. I'm a totally nerdy girl.
But my normal day has study, journaling, some housekeeping, always hair & make up except on heavy housekeeping day; time with husband & dogs; maintaining a women's support group that requires frequent monitoring, and I usually have a craft project going (this year its 5 afghans for grown kids for Christmas, 12 skeins each).
I am like someone in prison; if I don't keep busy, I will find trouble! I do take regular silent retreats at a lovely place not too far away. And have the best support of women friends.
Wow. TMI!

Cell phone games probably take up too much of my time, leaving me less to read, play video games, watch movies, and generally live life. I'm trying to be a little better.
QOTD:
I spend too much time doing "nothing." Refreshing websites, staring off into space, that sort of thing. This only serves to make my life feel more hectic because the "nothing" takes up so much time that it leaves too little for the things I actually want to do. It doesn't happen every day, but it happens often enough that I'm aware of it. I need to try to reduce that wasted time so I can do the things that matter to me. I might have more time to read purposefully, for example, if I spent less time staring off into space.
