Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Tuesday, 4/10/2018
Wishing you all a good Tuesday. We will be doing chores for most of the day and I'll be putting the finishing touches on my resume. Thank goodness, it has been a long road getting this resume done. I'll be sending it to my close friends for proofing later. Then I will finally be ready to get serious about job hunting.
QOTD: If you could say one good thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would say I have the ability to get things done. I have a gift for looking at a problem and seeing multiple solutions rather than seeing roadblocks. It has been handy in both my professional life and my personal life.
Meal 1: Coffee, PP protein shake
Meal 2: Thai curry soup w/ shredded LO pork roast
Meal 3: LO rib eye steak w/ mashed cauliflower
Meal 4: Sous vide ribs finished in the oven, corn on the cob and cole slaw for the family (I will have a smidge) (Ended up not having this last night, I underestimated the timing and needed to let it cook for a full 24 hours.)
Snack: Tea with stevia. Protein drink if needed.
Water and Vits: On track, except for my last calcium dose. I have missed it a couple of time over the two weeks.

Good morning! It's TUESDAY, and I believe that I actually get to leave work at 3:30 today...YAY! We will see. I love getting home by 4:30 or so and having some time to walk around the neighborhood, read, watch some TV, etc.
QOTD: I would say that I am a survivor. My parents (alcoholic/addict and 20 years apart) did not set us up for success. My father died when I was 15, my mother got diagnosed with dementia when I was 21, and all my younger siblings are still alive and have jobs...kudos to me! I was the first person to go to college (and I now have my Masters degree) and I love working with my students and striving to inspire them. That's one thing that I'm proud of....I always kept fighting. It's something that keeps me from giving up on things now.
B: no sugar added cinnamon oatmeal
L: smoked chicken and half a dinner roll
D: I want smoked chicken salads (if the chicken is gone when I get home, I have a turkey tenderloin that I'll make with broccoli)
Snacks: 1 cup of Skinny Pop popcorn

You are a badass!
I am also the first in my family to graduate (and then got that masters too woop woop! ) I came from poverty, but had the benefit of both of my parents being stable and lovely. With everything you have overcome, you are a fighter for sure!

I took yesterday off. I ended up taking two naps, I read some short stories for pleasure, and the guys picked up pizza for dinner. It was the second anniversary of my dad's death, so I needed to just ignore the world for a day.
Today it's back to real life. I'm interviewing someone for a class assignment at noon, so I need to get my interview questions sorted out before I leave. After the interview I get to go to the dentist to get a tooth recrowned because I managed to break the crown on Sunday. Then I've got a few random errands before getting back home and back to work.
QOTD: I'm a good planner.
1: protein shake
2: salad sans lettuce at Panera (interview location)
3: I have no idea. I had a meal plan for the week, but I wasn't counting on the impact of my dad's death, so I'm not feeling inspired. I'll stop by the grocery store on the way home from the dentist and see what reaches out. It'll probably be some basic sous vide steaks and a roasted veg.
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: foot physical therapy at home

QOTD: I've been told many times at work that I work very efficiently. Once someone told me I get two days worth of work done in 20 minutes, LOL - def not true. I think this is because I used to work part time - my boss said - that just means you do a full time job in part time hours. True!
B: 1/2 bagel, toasted with peanut butter
L: brought turkey and alpine lace cheese
D: idk, take out (sigh)
E: walk - did 15,000 steps yesterday! woo hoo

Happy Tuesday! It is still hot and muggy here. We are trying to find a good outing to do in the last week we have left in Florida, probably a boat cruise somewhere.
QOTD: I guess that I am generally an optimist with a "can-do" attitude most of the time. I also like to control things, have a plan, am a survivor of a lot of crap and can be a caretaker (though not my favorite role I always seem to end up in it).
2 Years post-op
Always lots of coffee...
B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
