Happy Saturday! I'm so happy to have a regular routine today including my usual eating/drinking after 2 exhausting days at Universal Studios.

QOTD: So do you like going to theme parks? Why or why not? As mentioned I just spent 2 days and am exhausted. I've been to Disney or Universal 5-6 times over my life for anywhere from 2-6 days. The first time I went I was probably around 25. I have ALWAYS found it exhausting at all ages and all weights. It is entertaining but I always feel I need a vacation afterwards. I think this will be the last time for many reasons.

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Deli turkey

D: leftover protein meals (have to scavenge in the fridge/freezer)

S: Yogurt and/or mozzarella/prosciutto sticks

QOTD: I always want to go and then when i get there think of the news and how someone gets stuck on the top of the roller coaster or at least one person dies every year and then I think - why did i want to come here, lol. I do go on the rides, except one year a short, overweight man died on superman at 6 flags and I was short and overweight that year - ummm,no thank you.

B: cheerios

L: leftover chicken chow mein

D: making chicken with onions, wine and gruyere cheese - with no kitchen. should be challenging. using an electric frying pan and toaster oven

E: shopping and walking

Good morning, all. I'm home from my third run of the week and getting ready to start in on school before heading out to see A Quiet Place.

QOTD: I used to enjoy amusement parks, but now I have zero interest. I've read too many stories about injuries and brain damage from the rides I would have gone on and they're always too crowded, too overwhelming, and too expensive. There are too many other ways I'd rather spend my time and money.

1: protein shake
2: I don't know.
3: Crispy Chickpeas and Lamb with Greens and Garlicky Yogurt, rice for the guys

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: running, yoga stretching

Such a great question. I used to love theme parks and even worked my way through college with a job at one of them. The last 3-4 times, I've been absolutely miserable at them (weight and joint pain, summer heat in CA, TX, and FL, rude people/crowds, long lines, and the exorbitant prices). My plan is to go to one during the off season next fall, just for a NSV to show myself that I don't have to sit on benches because I'm afraid I won't fit or my knee pain prevents walking and standing. I'll see how I feel--just a compare/contrast from before losing 100+ pounds. I have had several conversations with adults and teens over the past six months where they mention being uneasy in crowds and not wanting to go to theme parks, sporting events, concerts, etc. I think this is a growing problem in our modern world of 24/7 info.

B: coffee/chocolate Premier protein shake

S: low-fat cottage cheese with active cultures

L: grilled chicken and salad greens with Annie's vinegrette; 3-4 strawberries and a string cheese

S: Oikos Triple-Zero yogurt with tablespoon of walnuts

D: grilled or baked fish, whatever looks freshest at store; non-starch veggie cooked in olive oil or raw veggies with 2 tbs hummus

Afternoon gang! We've been chilling around the house today, getting ready to head to a 70s themed party... groovy!

QOTD: Well, I get anxious around crowds, but I do love watching the kids light up. We're going to Universal Orlando in May, and I'm extra excited because we've been reading Harry Potter for the past few months so the kids can't wait to see Hogwarts :) We don't go two days in a row, because I need a little break in between to let my anxiety level off.

B - Protein shake

L - leftover cheeseburger, no bun

d - 1 1/2 boiled eggs

S - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

e - ? Not sure yet

That's where we just were primarily to see the Harry Potter stuff. Big crowds in those areas, btw. Make sure you go into Olivanders to see the wizard help choose a wand for a customer. I thought that was great as was the train ride which goes from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (you have to have to two park pass to do that but there is a Harry Potter area in both parks).
