When did everyone eat real food??

I don't think I was eating actual, solid food until 2 months maybe. At 3 weeks I believe I was doing softer foods like eggs, yogurt, over cooked veggies, etc. Your surgeon should have given you schedule to eat on, if not this is something I googled https://www.obesitycoverage.com/the-big-gastric-sleeve-diet- guide/ might be helpful!
I'll get to have real food at 6 weeks out. I'm eating puréed food now, and I can hardly wait to get to normal food!

I wasn't cleared for all foods until 8 weeks. But just because I was cleared, didn't mean I could tolerate most things.
It takes a while. Rush things, and you'll regret it.

I was on liquids for 2 weeks post-op, pureeds for another 2 weeks, and soft solids for the following 2. Then I was on "forever diet."

My program was like Gwen's. And even though I can eat "whatever", it's whatever as long as I hit 85 grams of protein minimum every day; some days a particular thing is grand, and the next time I eat it, its not. So I think adjustment must take a long time.
I will be 6 months out from my VGS on the 5th of April. I'm pretty certain there are things I won't care about eating for a while.
I didn't mind any of the stages, as it made me think outside of what I had been eating. And I still like cooking for a crowd, whether I eat it or not. Same with going out to eat with friends or family.

Talk to your surgeon. Your doctor should have a very specific food progression for you to follow to make sure you don't injure your healing guts!

I had 2 weeks of full liquid, 2 weeks of puree, and then I was released for 'soft foods' whi*****luded crockpot meats. No matter what your plan says it should be a slow progression similar to how we'd feed babies who are just starting out. I added one new food for one meal every couple of days and only when I was home. Since I had gone back to work that limited me to new foods at dinner only. I also still relied on at least one shake per day to get me to my protein goal. I chose to avoid red meat until 12 weeks, just because I had some friends in person who had horror stories about foamies. I didn't have any issues at 12 weeks.
