Hello everyone, its been a few years. I have gained about 30-35 lbs and looking to get rid of it. I did pick up some bad habits which I have stopped effective March 8. I was wanting to try that Pruvit Keto o//s drinks. Anyone take those with a sleeve??

What else can I do to help lose some weight again. I have stopped my bad habits for the last 3 weeks and only seen 3 lbs down.

Any help appreciated

If you aren't already, start measuring and tracking everything you put into your mouth using something like MyFitnessPal. From there, work on getting back to your basics. Here are mine, yours might be slightly different.

1. Prioritize protein and water
2. Deprioritize carbs, especially the refined and processed ones
3. Make the most of healthy fats
4. Eat three meals a day with no snacks
5. Avoid liquid calories (protein shake for breakfast is my exception since I've never liked putting solid food in my stomach first thing in the morning)
a. Don't drink with meals or for 30 minutes after eating
6. Weigh portions and track/log what you consume
7. Eat mindfully and with no distractions aside from real live people
a. Try to eat at a table
b. Eat with utensils
8. Move as much as possible
9. Weigh yourself daily
a. But focus on the trend of your weight, not the day to day fluctuations
10. Be kind to yourself

You can do it!

Hi Gwen,

Thanks for the reply. I have been taking keto o//s but feel no difference. I am going to stop and get back to my basics.

I downloaded myfitnesspal and I have my fitbit, I have been exercising and eating low carb and high fat which I am leery doing to begin with. I couldnt eat breakfast as I had no room once I took a full 10 ozs of water plus then 12 ozs of the drink. I think I will keep my carbs low still but eat my regular breakfast and lunch and supper. I am going to stop taking the drink for a few weeks and see if I feel any difference. It is expensive to take and not feel really any difference.

I always eat with the family at the table with utensils, I stopped the daily weigh a few years ago and now back on it. I know I should not of stopped. I had a mild heart attack last Jan and got a little scared. I had my step daughter who is 16 living with us and I think I was stress eating. She moved out in Jan and I am feeling a bit better in my mind. I did pick up a red bull and bag of chips daily the last almost 2 years. Now I have to get rid of the fat off my thighs and ass lol.

I can do it! Thank you

How many calories does one of these keto drinks have? How much protein?

How much protein are you getting in each day? How much liquid?

Are you seeing a therapist to help with the mental side of things?

Based on what I see, this Keto//OS stuff is a caffeine/energy/fat supplement. Guessing people use it in place of bulletproof coffee if they're doing Keto. Data here: https://pruvit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206853867-What- are-the-supplement-facts-for-KETO-OS-version-2-1-

So unless you're doing strict Keto and watching your fat/protein/carb ratios, it looks like too many calories and fat for the amount of protein for just a standard low-carb diet.

I'd rather eat 7g of fat and forget the other stuff lol

Looks just like coffee but she could have coffee with less calories, etc. I would replace that with coffee and add 20g of protein to it. I like iced coffee (black) and that way I can add protein to it (it clumps up when its too hot).

Trying to lose weight and change my lifestyle! My main goal is 220.

3lb in 3 weeks is completely normal and healthy. You will not lose 20+lb in a month like you did after first having surgery. It's slow and steady all the way.

In my opinion, those keto drinks are completely useless. All of your food needs to have at least 10g protein per 100 calories, and none of their drinks come even close. It's nothing but empty calories.

Go back to lean, dense protein first and foremost, a few bites of veggie if you have room, and weigh/measure everything. Skip the gimmicky drinks and do what you did immediately after surgery.

A pound a week is nothing to sneeze at, and is a good sustainable rate for a "normal" person or any long term post-op - it's not going to come off like it did in your early post op days as you likely can't get to the same caloric deficit as you did then. I have seen plenty of people in our support group over the years lose 30lb or so just by cutting back the problem foods that have crept back into their diet; basic meat and green veg provides good nutrition and satiety for a calorie restricted diet without gimmicks and is sustainable.

Likewise, I would ditch the miracle drinks, as that looks like nothing but keto soda pop - just empty calories. Add one of those per day and that will be good for about 10lb of weight gain over a year - you don't need that kind of "help"
