Until the bag is empty. Because one serving is a bag. If they wanted us to eat less, they'd have put fewer in the bag.

I'm with others -- no more than 800 calories per day. 1400 is way too much at 6 months.

Protein, minimum carbs, 800 calories. Wherever fat ends up in that framework is fine.

I firmly believe just good ol? calorie counting is the answer. Whenever I?ve been successful at weightloss (20-30lbs about a million times over) it was due to caloric restriction. Of course us VSGrs have to get our protein in as well. I?m a little over 4mnths out and eating 800 to 1000 cals a day. Of course I?m a higher BMI patient, and my metabolism is shot from hypothyroidism, but the weight is coming off pretty steady. I think it is a balancing act of calorie deficit and exercise for me. Another thing that keeps me honest is my fitness pal, and logging every morsel I put in my mouth. I find if I don?t do that I might forget the creamer I put in my coffee, or the teaspoon of olive oil I used to cook dinner which in turn leads to several excess calories not accounted for.

I'm over a year out and my calories range between 700-800 a day. Rarely does it go under 700, occasionally a little over 800. I make sure to hit my protein goals, and keep my carbs around 50 most days.

I can eat keto and maintain, but to lose weight I have to do low carbs and count calories. The free fat on keto - is not free for me.

From other comments, it seems like you don't measure and track your intake now - so start there.

From there, make sure you're getting in 60-80 grams of protein a day and aim for 600-800 calories to lose weight. For me, from there, I avoid refined and processed carbs, and let the fat fall where it may. Dense protein will help to keep you full and satisfied.

Yes, I got off track with tracking a few months out. Honestly I didn't want to see how many calories I was eating.

I tracked yesterday and today and will from now on. It's going to be difficult to halve my calories but I will do it.

I ate 400-800 calories during loss phase. I had an extremely slow increase in calories from surgery until I hit goal and then under. I was at goal in 5 1/2 months but then increased my calories extremely slowly and lost ~20lbs below goal. Right now I'm eating not much more than you are to maintain my weight.

Even at 14 months and being in maintenance I still strive to have roughly 1g of protein for every 10-15 calories. So, for instance, today I have 1,498 calories planned and that is: 114g protein (31%), 98g fat (60%), 37g carbs (9%). I get some untracked calories from half & half in a coffee and whipped cream on yogurt (I never track these for whatever reason). So, I eat low-carb and high-fat, but not as high fat as keto technically says you should have (80%). I don't strive to be in ketosis either.

Such great advice from everyone...my plan had me increasing to 1000 cals by now - and like I said, I've never had issue getting calories in. I got totally swept up in thinking fat/keto, that I ignored my calories. Thank God I stopped now. ?

now my struggle is to figure out how to not have anxiety over being hungry all the time!
