Newbie Seeking Support Group
Good day comrades! Hope all is well. I'm considering having the VSG preformed and will be having my second consultation appointment with Dr. Bovier next week. Looking for a support group with real support. I'm nervous yet excited to have this done but with communicating with those with experience and with stories of success, I know that this will aid me to meet my goals, and maybe help aid someone along the way!! Thanks!
Are you looking for an in-person support group? I'd start by asking your surgeon's office for advice.
Otherwise, ObesityHelp is a great substitute for many who don't have access to a support group in real life!

I go to in-person support group meetings once a month, but I am on here daily. OH (ObesityHelp) is way more informative, helpful and provides more consistent support for me than in person (and it is always available).

Welcome! I have found this site to be SO helpful. Before my VSG I searched through tons of old posts here to learn as much as I could and I felt very prepared for surgery! after surgery I have tried to consistently take part in the daily menu thread. There are so many kind and informed people here and it's nice to hear from others who truly understand what you're going through. I'm so happy I had VSG, and I wish you well as you consider your options!

OH is great for support. You can post questions, read others' advice, and get help.
There are daily "what are you eating" threads, and many people here use them for their daily accountability check. I'd definitely suggest reading through some of the older ones, both to get an idea of what post-op eating is like, as well as to see the kind of environment we have here on OH.
Welcome!
