What about lamb?

no one ever mentions lamb as protein. I love lamb, and almost never eat beef, so I'm wondering if I can have it after surgery/healing.

Yes. I eat lamb occasionally. My daughters aren't big fans and it's pricey so it's not the main protein for me, but I eat it!

He don't eat no meat? That's ok, I make lamb - My Big Fat Greek Wedding LOL. After healing, I don't believe there are any foods that are prohibited, at least in my program. Different people, however, have different foods that are tolerated better than others. Basically, proteins are good!

Love lamb, and although it is rather expensive, with how little we eat after surgery, it should be okay! Now, that being said, I tried venison last week and my body did not do well on it. Not sure why, but every day is a crap shoot with my tummy! Oy!!

I love lamb and make lamp chops fairly often - much easier to do now that I only eat 2 instead of a whole rack! It think what keeps people from mentioning it is the price and its not something they often buy. I eat all the proteins I ate before surgery and don't eat the ones I didn't eat before surgery - e.g.

I'm happy to eat, beef, lamb, chicken, pork, certain shellfish, certain fish, bison, ostrich, duck, goat and some others.

I will not eat (because I didn't like them before) any kind of liver, bluefish, venison, scallops (allergic), oysters (never liked).

I'm 20 months out. I pretty much eat anything at this point. There was a time where certain things didn't taste the same or taste good after surgery and I avoided them - for a while I couldn't eat white meat chicken - something about the texture, but that passed.

Keep on losing!

You can absolutely have lamb! I have a hard time finding it at my local Safeway, but I make lamb meatballs whenever I can get my hands on the stuff :)

I eat lamb fairly often and have never had an issue with it. Mainly ground, but also chops and roasts.

I LOVE LAMB! I have my favorite Greek restaurant that I get lamb kebobs. I'm just 3 months out so one order lasts me 3 meals.

I also can't wait for the farmer's markets to start up around me to get lamb from the farmers!
