I had my gastric sleeve surgery Nov 24 2017 and have experienced a week here and there with no loss but then subsequent weeks make up for it. Before I hit this plateau I was super jazzed and feeling great because I had lost 51lbs and was 1/3 of the way to my goal weight. I know that the weight loss will slow down over time but I wasn't expecting this.

I had stopped drinking the protein shakes for a while because what tasted great at first is just gross now, I also still struggle with hydration (my hands and fingers get wrinkled sometimes because of it). As such, 3 days ago, I began drinkingA daily protein shake again, in small increments and mixed with milk and I have set a "drink water" reminder on my phone.

I don't know how many calories I had been eating but I installed the "my fitness pal" app yesterday to start tracking. I have been measuring my meals the same way since I got home from surgery - using a 3 oz Dixie Cup. I'm going to try cutting out all bread and crackers etc for a while to see if that helps.

I will update next Saturday and hopefully I will have some forward momentum again, however, any suggestions going forward would be appreciated.

Thank you.

What, exactly, are you eating? Give us an idea of your daily menus and we can trouble shoot for you.

Aside from the things you already know you need to do - like getting in all of your liquids!

For supper I eat what I make for my family but really tiny portions. My husband was recently diagnosed as diabetic so I don't make carb heavy meals like pasta anymore bit I do have 2 Tbls of mashed potatoes or peas or brown rice or quinoa.. My breakfast is usually one of the following; 3 fl oz low fat cottage cheese, or 1 hard boiled egg, or 3 go oz "super grain" unsweetened oatmeal (oats, flax and chia). On occasion a low fat flavoured yourt. Lunch is not so well planned but its often a leftover steamed veg from the night before plus 1-2 oz of boneless skinless salt free chicken breast, or tuna or 1 oz cheese with 4 crackers.

I will also mention that my snacks is my protein shake divided into 2 servings.

Not knowing how many calories you're consuming and eating bread and crackers will definitely cause the scale to stall. I think stopping all that will definitely help. You might consider getting a food scale to measure your food more accurately than the Dixie cups.

I'll be heading to Wal-Mart for a digital scale tomorrow. Thank you!

Sounds like you already know where to start. Sometimes a stall is just s stall and other times what has worked before no longer works and we need to change things up.

I have had a couple stalls, then all of the sudden I start losing a pound per day. I count calories through MyFitnessPal (and I stay under 1000) You are probably just having a stall. Also the protein is very important at this stage. Are you getting 65 to 70 grams a day without shakes? I would never be able to do that without supplementation at this point. Try a clear protein drink like premier or Isopure. Isopure has been a lifesaver for me. This is vital for your health. Not only will you lose muscle, but I also read that you can do damage to your heart by not getting enough protein in. When I had my stall, I started walking and this really revved my metabolism back up.

The heart is a muscle.
