Good morning! I'm up early for fitness classes today - woo! I've got to swing by the other grocery store on my way home to get a few ingredients my normal store didn't have when I went on Monday. Then I'm hoping to grind out my HMGT paper so I can devote the rest of the week to my GERO paper!

QOTD: When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? (I'll put my answer in a comment.)

1: protein shake
2: last of the leftover Indian
3: I realized I didn't have all the ingredients I needed to make what I posted yesterday, so I made another recipe I'd planned for the week - Chicken Kiev Burgers and served them with roasted cauliflower. Tonight I'll be making Gyro Burgers. Week of burgers!

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: pilates class, yoga class

QOTD: 9 times out of 10, when people come to me for help it's just because they want me to listen to them - sometimes with advice, sometimes just with commiseration. I've been told I'm easy to talk with, which is a nice trait to have most of the time! The other 1 time out of 10, it's for recommendations. Which is really weird because I HATE recommended things to people. I'm always worried that they'll hate the thing I've recommended and then blame me for it! I especially hate when people ask me if I'd recommend a movie because I see a lot of movies and Lance and I have a very low bar when it comes to what we'll see. Although it's higher than it used to be due to having less time, still. We see a lot of crap ;)

Good Morning! Another sunny 80 degree day coming. It really seems amazing to be here in the sunshine. This is our busy "on campus" day each week. Walking, coffee with the women, lunch at the pool, and line dancing in the afternoon.

QOTD: People mostly ask me for help with computers, since I worked in IT related jobs. I can figure a lot of things out, but I know nothing about hardware and really am no expert at all...

1 year, 10.5 months post-op

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: vegetarian chili

S: Cottage cheese and/or yogurt and/or prosciutto mozzarella stick

Haha, that's awesome that you're tech support :) I was always tech support for my parents, now just my mom, which is good since my dad, although he was actually a rocket scientist, was HORRIBLE with computers. OMG.

My favorite conversation was the time he called me to tell me he couldn't find the icon for the scanner. I told him it was in the top left corner of his desktop. To which he replied, "I can't find my desktop." LOL forever, dad.

Morning! Another crappy night of sleep. Someday I'll fall asleep and not wake up until at least 5am. I'm working from home today, but I'm going to pop into the office to say hi and then have lunch with co-workers. This will be my first time driving since surgery, but I think it will be fine. I'm also going to go through the bank drive-thru and make a small grocery trip as well. We leave on Sunday for NC, so I don't want to buy much.

QOTD: IT help. Even though I've been in management for 10 years and really I don't generally know much more than that they. I do at least have an innate troubleshooting ability and can figure things out easily. I also tend to be 'human Google' for my BFF's and sister. I read so much that I tend to know sometimes useless stuff.

12 months post-op/Maintenance/127.7lbs

Mom's out of town, DH is working all day, so the house is MINE! Formulating a plan, but it probably involves turning up the music (I love loud music, but only when I'm alone) and working on my music ripping project. I have about 1000 CD's and I'm working on getting them all ripped so we can listen to them anytime without having to dig them out. I'm about 75% finished so maybe today I can get the remaining 250 done. Or at least make a huge dent in the pile.

QOTD: When people ask me for help, it is usually one of 4 reasons. 1. Cooking (not baking) advice - I've got a reputation for being able to cook anything well. 2. IT Help 3. Help dealing with a insurance company, vendor, or contract issue. This is/was my specialty. I'm a vicious negotiator. (But I do it in a honey coated way which is really effective). I helped my step mother avoid a foreclosure when my male parent committed suicide and we found out he had not made a payment in over a year. She was able to just make payments and avoided all penalties, fees, late charges, and attorney fees. Yes, I'm that good. (LOL)

M1: Coffee, PP caramel, miralax

M2: Pork miso soup with egg

M3: LO grilled pork chop with kale/brussel slaw

M4: LO taco innards

M5: LO wings and a meatball

S: Something protein forward if needed

E: Nothing specific.

Water/Vits: On track so far for today.

Hi all! Busy day with several meetings up front and ending with a couple of groups at the women's prison.

QOTD: since I am a therapist many people come to me for advice when they are struggling. The funny thing is that giving advice is not the primary (or secondary) role of a therapist and of course it's not appropriate for me to do therapy with friends and family. I still love to listen and offer compassion and guidance where I can.

b - Protein shake

L - probably roast beef

D - turkey soup

e - I've been terrible about this and need to begin prioritizing exercise. I'm working upwards of 50 hours a week and have had a lot going on with the kids and family so I'm a bit drained. Today I'm working 12 hours, but tomorrow I will at least go for a walk and do at least 10 min of yoga.

QOTD: OY! I'm a psych NP. I have a very small circle of people I would call friends. They know what my job entails and are very kind to not ask me about medications about 99% of the time. When they do, I know its really important, and I have no problem talking about those things. A lot of the time, they just want someone to listen. A sounding board that they can use, most often getting their own answers from talking. My family asks medical questions. Sometimes they'll ask me to write a prescription to get them through til they can see their doc. But they're very careful not to cross the line, and I'm grateful for that.

AM: SF hazelnut white mocha
