Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Tuesday, 2/6/2018
Happy Tuesday! Chores planned for today and some cooking and cleaning.
QOTD: Cut flowers or live plants? Which would you rather receive as a gift? I prefer cut flowers. My thumb is not green, it is brown. I kill everything. So, I'd rather enjoy a bouquet of cut than have to be responsible for a living plant.
M1: Coffee, PP vanilla, miralax
M2: LO lobster, crab, scallop
M3: Korean sous vide ribs
M4: Brisket, swiss and an egg

Good morning! It is supposed to be very sunny and warm today so I think we are going to the beach this afternoon. The wind has been too chilly to go up until now.
QOTD: Definitely cut flowers because I too kill off green plants, but also because I love to add color.
1 year, 10 months post-op
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Fish and veggies
S: Cottage cheese or yogurt

This is the taco casserole recipe that I made!
https://www.bariatricfoodie.com/taco-casserole/
I used lean ground turkey, reduced fat fiesta cheese blend, homemade taco seasoning, and yellow squash instead of zucchini. I also added some chopped garlic to the squash and onions as they cooked. I had a few pounds of squash already in the crisper (It's a staple at my house!)
It was delicious and easy. The fam had it with flour tortillas and hot sauce and I had 3.5 ounces in a bowl with a dab of plain Greek yogurt on top.

G'day! I'm feeling like "OMG, it's only Tuesday" today... woe is me, lol.
QOTD: Cut flowers for sure. I am a disaster when it comes to growing plants. My father (born in Sicily) always grew a tomato garden and passed away last June. I felt obligated to keep the tomatoes alive last summer. They did grow and were delicious, but the weeds! I cannot believe the maintenance for weeding the garden. I don't know how he did it up to 91 years old. I intend to plant again this summer since nothing tastes like a home-grown tomato and am hoping to get more help this year.
B: steel cut oats with blueberries and banana
L: leftover taco stuffed pepper
D: maybe steak, cauliflower
E: def walking the dog, maybe a walk at lunch around the building

Hi all! I'm heading out soon for my allergy shot and grocery shopping, then it's back home for schooling. I'm wearing jeans today because I realized this morning that I've worn all my skirts (I've got 20ish and wear them all once before washing them all, as they get washed differently than all the other laundry). While I prefer to wear skirts because they're comfy, I am super thrilled to share that a size 4 fit today. (And not even an Old Navy size 4!) It's funny - I used to wear skirts all the time in high school and middle school, then I stopped and I have no idea why. I love them, though :)
I've still got weird pain in my abdomen, but I've been constipated for 3-4 days now. Finally starting to see some improvement there after some full doses of Miralax!
QOTD: Not to be contrary - but neither. I'd rather see flowers growing outside. This might be from years of having cats who would get into any sort of plant life that was inside. I'd rather have one of these bouquets :D
1: protein shake
2: lamb chop
3: deep-fried pork fillet (weird name for a recipe, it's pork katsu, though. Made with pork tenderloin. From the cookbook of the week - Japanese Cooking.)
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: who knows :(

Good morning all! I prefer cut flowers! I have never been very good at planting or gardening. Mostly I don't have enough time to really focus on it. It's funny cause my mom and loves live plants and I always give her mine. Once she told me I could kill a plastic plant- lol!
M1 premier protein
M2 Greek yogurt
M3 Chicken and vegetable soup
S1 Greek yogurt
S2 sliced turkey
Good morning. Feeling overwhelmed with work this week because I'm writing a grant that's due Friday, I have a massive interim report due Monday, and I'm adding a new Trauma group to my weekly rotation. Instead of my typical 45 - 50 hour work week I'm looking at 60. Trying not to let the stress get to me! #pityparty
QOTD: I love fresh cut flowers! I feel I'm in good company here with all the other black thumbs. My goal this spring is to grow an indoor herb garden. This will be my first attempt at keeping a plant alive in a decade!
B - Coffee & Protein
L - eggs
D - I think I'll throw some chicken in the crock pot
E - I doubt I'll have time, but I'll try to get up and move around throughout the day.
