I'm up early enough to post this today and everyone else hasn't! Yay! I'm up earlier than normal today, and with time for OH, because I've got a follow-up with my reconstructive surgeon today. I'm less excited than I should be about it because my period started FIVE DAYS early yesterday and how to deal with that at an appointment where I'll be naked is stressing me out.... but otherwise, life is good. I'm running and keeping on top(ish) of my school work. Today, once I get home, I'll get my run in and then work on a "quiz" for Gerontology. (It's really a test with the amount of work/time it'll require.)

QOTD: My burning question for all of you - How did you choose your username? If it's your real name, do you know why you were named that? Tell us the story! Gwen is not my real name, but I've used it online since I first discovered the internet in 1995, and it was a nickname long before that. One time, in middle school, I called my bff's house and her dad answered. He asked, "Is this [my name]?" and I said, "No, it's her evil twin." And without missing a beat he called out to my friend and said, "Hey, Gwendolyn is on the phone!" It stuck and my bff's dad called me Gwendolyn, and then Gwen, for the rest of his life. So it seemed like a good name for online! Since I didn't want to use my partners' real names either, Art and Lance were chosen due to King Arthur and Sir Lancelot. While I know that the woman in question was Guinievere, not Gwendolyn, it works for me.

I love your QOTD Gwen, and a few weeks ago I made the King Arthur connection and wondered if your names were real or not lol.

Mine is pretty self explanatory MMsMom- I have two kids, each with M names and both have/had the initials MM ****il marriage, although she is reluctant to use her husband's name on anything other than legal documents).

B: trying to motivate myself to cook an egg

L: salad with tuna

D: idk, feeling extremely lazy today.

I realized I go back to work Monday after 6 weeks off - and although physically i'm ready, I could use another month off mentally - but who couldn't.

LOL about making the King Arthur connect recently! Most people don't :D

I hope you've motivated yourself to cook an egg by this point.

Morning! I woke up later this normal this morning and had to be to work early for a meeting. Tomorrow will be my last day on the menu thread for a while and then I'll be AFK having an LBL and BL with Dr. Michaels on Monday 1/29 (but we're leaving for D.C. on Saturday). It's very strange because I've been instructed to stop taking my vitamins and I feel lost because I've been so compliant for a whole year!

QOTD: Erin T. is my real name. My real login username (vs display name), which I'm not going to quote here because I don't want it to come up in Google, is actually one I was assigned in college as an email address. It's part of my maiden name plus some random numbers they assigned.

Love the history of your name, Gwen! Good luck on your appointment today.

QOTD: My original OH username was LizJustWantsHealth. Liz is my actual name and the rest was my main motivation for WLS. I changed it to something similar a while ago when I realized that I had regained my health.

Yay for regaining your health and passing on good wishes to everyone else :)

My appointment was GREAT. My surgeon is super pleased and kept staring at my body and saying "wow."

Woke up really late today. But the day will be busy.

QOTD: What a fun question. My username is Ladyblu. This has been an online gaming name for me for 30 years. It comes from a Piers Anthony series called the Apprentice Adept. It is an awesome series. My real name is Diane which I sign to my posts a lot. I was named after the song Diane by the The Bachelors. Good morning! I went to see a vein specialist a few days ago about my legs, and it turns out that I have GREAT circulation (haha!) All of my vein issues are purely cosmetic, so while that is comforting, I do hate that insurance isn't going to pay for any of the repairs. I assumed it was because of my weight, but he said that it's probably the fact that I've been a full-time cashier since I was 14 (now I just do it on Sundays since I've been teaching) combined with my weight. Once I get down to about 250, I'm going to begin vein treatments to get rid of all these spots on my legs! It'll be about $1,200, which I've heard is a decent price with so many areas.

QOTD: What an interesting question! Mine is just a combination of my name. My initials are ACE (Amanda C. Edding...) and I am 27 years old. Since this is the age I received my surgery, I thought it would make a good username. My parents wanted my initials to spell something interesting and they loved Boston. (I'm gonna take you by surprise, and make you realize, Amanda....) and the name was uncommon at the time. Oddly enough, between 1990-1994, it SHOT UP in popularity and is super common amongst my age group, haha.

B: Advant Edge dark chocolate

L: hard-boiled egg, vanilla greek yogurt

D: I want something good...so I'm not sure. Maybe salmon, since I've been eating mostly tilapia/chicken/turkey...I'll probably throw a few green beans on the side for variety

I had my right leg done last summer and will have my left leg done this May. The difference between the two is night and day! Not just how it looks, but how it feels is amazing! I'm sorry insurance won't cover it. I had pain and blockage, so it was covered thank goodness. Please let me know if you have any questions.
