Encouragement greatly needed!

7 weeks out here. My weight loss has slowed down so much. I'm getting really discouraged.

I'm getting 500-600 calories a day. Coming close to protein goals. Drinking. I started working out. I'm just really frustrated and discouraged.

When was your first stall, and when did weight loss slow down? And did it speed up again?

At 7 weeks out, it seems strange that you're "coming close" to your protein goal. You should be reliably making your protein goal at this point. 60 grams of protein is 240 calories, so if you're not reaching your protein goal, that's a lot of calories from other stuff.

My dietician wants me to get 74-96 grams of protein a day. My average is around 60 65 on good days. I can't have protein shakes as all of them make me ill. I'm trying to introduce unflavored protein when I can.

Give us a sample daily menu for you - maybe we can troubleshoot.

It is going to be tuff to do without the protein shakes. I used shrimp and ham on a daily basis and also tuna fish and chicken. All low in calories and higher in proteins. Did you try the clear proteins? Premier has a clear one you might like. My goal was also set at 100 on the protein. You can do this. You need it to recover so you can get it down.

I only lost on the 4th week. I Every time. I was at goal in 6 months though. If you are doing everything the dr. asked you to do you will lose it. I would have one big drop at the end of the 4 weeks. Your body is smart. It will do the right thing.

Don't get discouraged. Everybody is different as as their pace. If you are doing everything that the dr. told you you are doing this right! A lot of people have a stall the 3rd week. Maybe you are having your stall now.

Are you weighing and measuring everything? Drinking an hour after meals and stopping 30 minutes before? I just set the timer on my phone for that

So Every day is different but wake up feed my girls and them I'll have an egg. Usually hard boiled. 2 1/2 3 hours later I take deli meat either chicken or turkey 1 or 2 slices depending on how big. I put laughing cow light and onion in it. Then later I might have a cheese stick before dinner. Then I'll have dinner. Which is usually chicken like 1 1/2oz art most and maybe a few bites of vegetable. As for snacks I eat jerky no more than 1 oz, cheese sticks. I just started trying to drink fairlife fat free milk as a snack cuz in 8oz it has 13g protien. For something crunchy I might have parmesan cheese whisps. But only like 8. I went and looked at my last past days and basically everything I ate had protein in it.

As for protein drinks I've tried a bunch of shakes and the clear protein shakes are way too sweet for me. Idk why protein shakes upset my digestive system like cramping and pains. Before I had surgery I tried a month diet on hmr shakes and I ended up in the hospital they thought it was gallbladder. Wasn't. I stopped the shakes the pain stopped. After surgery I was doing awesome drinking 2 premier a day then I got the same sick feeling. They suggested I try protein bars but I think they are sweet and too high in calories.

Also I try to stay away from artificial sweeteners. Like crystal light, I can't do. The taste is gross and too sweet.

Also the scale hasn't completely stopped it's just really really slow and it's so frustrating.

Sorry for this long response!

You don't NEED protein shakes. Fairlife milk is a great liquid source of protein. But, really, you're better off with protein from dense protein sources.

How many times a day are you eating?

Define "really really slow."

We get spoiled in the first month before surgery when we see the scale drop 5lb or more per week. After about the 6 week point, things slow down to about a pound or two per week. This is normal and healthy and expected.
