Hmm, I'd say probably about 8 weeks? It was definitely quite a bit after I started onto solid foods.

It's funny how we're all different. It's like my cut nerves got stuck on the 'full' setting. I was marginally full when my stomach was empty and putting tiny amounts in it would make me stuffed.

My recommendation is to count total carbs not net carbs as that's just a marketing scam.

What are your daily calories consumed? If you're not sure try using an app like MyFitnessPal to log and keep track of what you're eating so you can correlate results with accurate data.

Now is the time to train yourself NOT to seek out fullness or test your limits. Almost all of us were adept at stuffing ourselves prior to surgery so it may be weird or uncomfortable to not have that feeling anymore but that's ok - our new normal should be eating just enough for proper health and no more.

As I mentioned in my original post, I track everything in MyFitnessPal, including all carbs. However, for my carb goal, I do go for net carbs, which is total carbs minus fiber (I don't subtract sugar alcohols) which works for me. My calories consumed are less than 800, the total amount varies.

I'm not sure what part of my post implied I was trying to test my limits? I merely stated I was exactly following my surgeon's plan, and that I was actually concerned I was eating too much, not that I wanted to eat more.

No! I haven't heard of that. I just subtract the fiber count from the macro-nutrients setting. How did you get the add-on?

That post will explain how to do it. It subtracts fiber but not sugar alcohols. I used total carbs during loss phase and use net carbs now, but if you're using net carbs it will be useful!

I had identical guidelines to yours very nearly, except I ate a bit less often. I think you are on the right path so far. My nutritionists typically advocated no more than 100g a day of carbs - however, the carbs are not mandatory but more of a "if you have room after protein" thing. I ate less frequently, but I also was having weird pressure so I didn't want to pu**** Part of eating frequency is also tolerance, and many people.

The more obese we are the more we benefit from low carb diets, particularly until we have fewer insulin resistant fat cells. It also can optimize the appetite changes post-WLS for many.

You may need more electrolytes and sodium when low carb, particularly if you are in ketosis. Keep an eye out for muscle cramps.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Eating frequently doesn't seem to be an issue for me at the moment, and I've been handling the 2-3 oz without issue, so I think I'll plan on sticking to my plan. :)
