I am glad you listened to your body and waited to resume your normal exercise routine.

I remember before you had your surgeries you seemed to be in a rush to resume your normal activities (was it you who had a race you wanted to do??)

After my first surgery I was definitely chomping at the bit at the 6 week mark - which is when I was cleared for exercise. For my second surgery, it wasn't so much an issue, but I can't remember why? Maybe I was super busy then?

I do have a race in March - I'm still not 100% sure what I'll be doing for it yet. I'm registered for the half marathon but I'm not certain I'll have the endurance to be able to do the distance. It'll be my first race since last March, though. I didn't register for any fall 2017 races due to recovery :)
