Liquid Diet Suggestions?
The only protein drink I can tolerate without dry heaving is Isopure in alpine punch or lemonade.
I'm assuming it's a clear protein?? I made the mistake of starting to drink the premiere protein clear protein a few months ago and now I have no interest in it...lol...where do you buy the isopure?
It is a clear protein. I started with the milky stuff and developed an aversion. I get them from GNC for 40 bucks a 12 pack. They have 40 grams of protein so I drink half a day to supplement what I can?t get from food. They are a bit pricey but I?m thinking you could find a better deal online. Good luck!
Edited to say: You will probably hate whichever ones you start with FYI. I also have the sytrax nectar. You can get a sampler package with like 17 flavors. They weren?t too terrible. Variety will be key in the beginning until your sense of taste and smell settle down.
Holy moly. Phewwwwww! That is pricey...i paid like $15 for a 12 pack of the premiere clear protein at Sam's Club! Oy! My husband says the premiere clear reminds him a lot of the isopure.
I knowwww the price absolutely sucks. I try and legitimize it by telling myself that my new stomach is saving money due to a decreased grocery bill and fast food bill.
Another thing that helped me was premier protein water. It has 20 grams of protein and tastes pretty good (fruit punch). Another one is Bariatric Choice protein water too (berry, blue raspberry and grape) and there should be others at your local food mart. Remember, its only two weeks, stick with it!
Trying to lose weight and change my lifestyle! My main goal is 220.
I have the premier protein clear protein, and really enjoyed it at first, it reminded me of those little kool aids in the plastic bottles with the twist top!! Haha. But then after I noticed milk was an ingredient, it played with my head, and now the after taste gets the better of me!
My pre-op diet was a bit different, but during my two-week post-op liquids phase, I really liked premier protein, Syntrax Nectar & Syntrax Nectar Sweets protein powders (mixed with water or almond milk to keep calories low), and the Unjury Chicken Soup flavor for something savory. SF Jello & SF Popsicles were also allowed, and were good when I needed something to provide a bit of substance.
