I'm in a great mood today. 12 days of exercise under my belt and I'm feeling extremely hopeful about my abilities! They did not degrade as much as I feared they would with seven months of sedentary living. I did all five of my fitness classes this week! Woo!

I've been ridiculously busy this week between fitness, school, and random other appointments.

QOTD: Interesting question, Liz! Thanks! I try very hard to be self-compassionate over self-confident, however, I need a certain amount of self-confidence to be willing to try new things without fearing failure. But I strive, every day, to treat myself no worse than I'd treat the people I love.

1: protein bar (I need to figure out the optimal eating for fitness class days again.)
2: leftover sous vide filet mignon
3: probably leftover beef and lamb tahini meatballs - there is way too much food in the fridge right now, so I'm not cooking dinner.

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: zen-ga class, tai chi class, pilates class

Got on the scale again this morning and lost another 6 pounds. That makes a total of 143 since 7/13/17 and a total of 206 from my HW. That is a whole person plus some. And to think I used to walk around with that person hanging on me. I'm amazed. And I've got the calves to prove it. Heh!

QOTD: That was an interesting article. It made me think. I believe I am somewhere between self-confident and self-compassionate. In my professional life, I don't have a problem admitting when I don't know something or have done something incorrectly. But, I put forth the self-confidence that I can learn it and/or fix it. I have always had a 'get it done' attitude and will move heaven and earth to make it happen. In my personal life, I tend more toward self-compassion, but will pull out the self-confidence when I am fighting for a family member or friend. I definitely can go into mama bear mode and then watch out!

M1: Coffee, PP vanilla

M2: Egg, 1 oz sous vide chicken, 1 oz, sweet Italian sausage

M3: Protein bar

M4: Skipping

M5: Beefy chili with extra beef (Grilled cheese or cornbread for the family - I may have a smidge of corn bread).

S: Jerky or other protein forward snack if needed.

E: Nothing formal.

Water/Vits: on track (barely). (Water has been a struggle again - but I'm working on it.)

QOTD: Great topic!! I actually work on self-compassion with a lot of my incarcerated clients. I find our culture emphasizes self-esteem when self-compassion is much more beneficial to our overall well-being. I once had zero self-compassion. Perfectionism drove me and I would beat myself up over any perceived failure or misstep. Studying to become a therapist actually helped me a great deal (as did my amazing counselor). Now I routinely practice self-compassion and I feel much more peaceful.

B - Protein shake

L - grilled chicken nuggets

D - salmon with a couple bites of asparagus

E- Hoping I can motivate myself to do some Yoga
