Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Friday 1/12/18
Morning! It's windy and 60 degrees this morning. It's amazing how quickly the rain has knocked down the large amounts of snow we had on the ground. Sadly, it's supposed to very quickly drop in temperature tonight and we're supposed to get a foot of snow before tomorrow morning. I guess it will mostly be falling on a clean slate.

Good morning! We are getting a change in weather here in Florida as well. It has been 80 and sunny the last couple of days. Today will be muggy with showers this afternoon as a front comes through and then it will be cooler for the next week (probably too cool to swim).
QOTD: Are you self-confident or self-compassionate? Someone linked to this article on another forum a couple of days ago and I have been thinking about it: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/28/smarter-living/why-self-c ompassion-beats-self-confidence.html. I believe I have been self-confident for the most part because it helped me feel in control and suited me well working in a male-dominated organization. But perhaps it would be better for me to become more self-compassionate for the future?

Good morning! Snow day down here in MS today! We have a little ice and a couple inches of powdery stuff, so I plan on enjoying my lengthened weekend.
QOTD: This is interesting. I think I have been more self-confident in my abilities as a responsible adult, sister, caretaker, teacher, wife, etc. Even as a teen, I was confident in my ability to always "make it through" Anything. Which is kind of sad now that I'm reflecting on it.
However, I have plagued myself with low self-esteem almost my entire life based on my physical appearance. Lately, I think I have become more self compassionate. I try not to denigrate myself and treat myself like I would want someone else to treat me. People make mistakes and there's not a perfect soul out there. Therapy helps with this!
