Weight gain

I had my surgery almost 15 weeks ago. I have been eating small portions and going to the gym.

The past 2 weeks my kids have been sick, I had a cold and now bronchitis.

I have been living on a protein bar, protein chips and protein soup. I average no more than 600 calories a day and get about 70 grams of protein. I have not been to the gym because I can't breathe.

Not only have I stalled in losing weight I have gained 2 pounds.

what am I doing wrong?

More than likely it's jus****er weight from the sodium in the processed foods + soup. Go back to lean proteins and you'll take off the 2lbs.

Maybe you?re not drinking enough. If you don?t drink, you?ll retain. It?s your bodies own defense mechanism.

Another cause could simply be hormonal changes causing retention. I gain 3-4 pound of fluid during y menstrual cycle.

Hope you feel better!

many protein bars, protein chips and protein soupshave a lot of carbs. They can cause a gain or stop your loss. The bars are pretty much glorified candy bars and the chips are just bRiatric junk food. weiht loss does ng to the gym or not. It depends on what we choose to put in our mouths.

64 ounces. I force myself. I have never been a huge water person. The protein chips only have 4 grams of carbs and give me 21 grams of protein. We have just been sick for so long I don't have an appetite.

Since you're sick, I'd try to increase the hydration. It's great that you're getting your protein in, since your body truly does need it! I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain, like others said, it's likely just sodium from the processed foods. Once you're able to eat fewer processed things you should see it vanish fairly quickly :)

I understand about sick families, having two of my own kids.

I also know about not having any appetite. My appetite / hunger has not returned in 8 years since surgery.

if you have no appetite then you can virtually eat anything, eggs, meat jerky retried beans, etc. if nothing tasted good,it doesn?t have to be protein chips and protein bars.

Hang in there, this will pass. Try to eat as much real protein choices as possible so as not t9 have a gain.

I have gained 35 lbs since 2015 and Im struggling to get it off. I know what I need to do and could give advise all day but cant seem to do it myself right now. You might not be losing weight but inches. Keep going!
