Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Thursday 1/11/18
Morning. It's the first day of classes (meh). I need to be to work a half hour early so I'm there before the first class of the day starts. I have something resembling a sore throat this morning, maybe a swollen lymph node in neck. Not the perfect day to come down with something!
QOTD: What diets did you try before surgery? My main diet attempt, as an adult was simply counting calories and eating at a deficit. I lost 100lbs like that but gained back 40 of it. Then I joined weigh****chers and lost 30+ of the 40lbs again. I think it was January 2015 that we did a Whole30 month as well. I lost 13lbs doing that. I was never much for the really extreme diets (cabbage soup, fasting, lemon water?).
11 months post-op/Maintenance/132.5lbs
M1: Coffee, PP, Miralax, HC
M2: Egg, Sausage, Cheese
M3: Venison Pepperoni & Mozzarella Cheese
M4: Pork Tenderloin
M5: Yogurt w/ PB
E: Today is technically a running day, but with it being the first day of classes I'm not sure. I will bring my stuff and hopefully get there on lunch break or right after work.

LBL/BL w/ Fat Transfer 1/29/18
Good morning! Today is house cleaning and straightening. And paperwork. Blah.
QOTD: I did Nutri-Systems when I was 16 - 18 and got down to 120. After that it was pretty much a steady increase until I was 30. By 30 I was well over 300 pounds. I did a lifestyle change (low fat, low cal, and began walking) and got down to about 180. After that (which only lasted about a year or so), I steadily increased with small losses until I hit my HW of 585. I half-heartedly tried weigh****chers, but never got into fad diets. I was always "planning" on dieting, but never really worked at it.
M1: Coffee, miralax, PP caramel
M2: Fage w/ SF jello or SF pudding and a scoop of unflavored protein powder
M3: PP Protein Shake
M4: LC cheese wedge and beefy chili with black eyed peas
M5: Beef stew (no potatoes). Mashed pots for the family.
S: Jerky or other protein forward snack if needed.
E: Nothing formal.
Water/Vits: on track.

I want to buy more sleep. My Toyota is getting picked up today - I'm donating it to my local NPR station. I was given a service window of 6am-3pm (wtf) and last night the person called me to tell me they'd be here at 6:30am (WTF). So I'm up early to take care of that. It'll be so nice to get to finish up with this car! Once I'm awake for real, I'll call insurance to get it removed. Tomorrow, when I'm out, I'll drop the tags off at the DMV.
QOTD: The only "diet" I did with any dedication was Body for Life in the early 2000s. Art and I did it together, we set up a little home gym for the exercise part. We didn't own a scale, so I have no idea what weight I lost, but I definitely did lose weight. However, BFL has the concept of a "cheat day" and, if I didn't have BED before, this definitely did not help. Once a week I would gorge for a day. I would then spend the other six days obsessing about what I was going to eat on that cheat day and planning for it. It ended up being super unhealthy and screwed up my food thinking for a very, very long time.
1: protein shake
2: leftover dal from yesterday's lunch and a piece of cheese
3: it's a leftover night and, even though it's not the oldest leftover, I might treat myself to some sous vide filet mignon from Tuesday because it was freaking amazing
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: a long walk once it warms up and I'm awake for real after the car donation thing is finished. (And I see the truck coming down the street now! Edit: I lied, that was just A truck not THE truck.)

Toyota has been picked up, breakfast shake consumed, want to buy more sleep. I think I might go back to bed once Lance is up and finished with the bathroom. I think I'll plan to take my walk around 10 or 11 since it'll be warmest then and I can eat lunch afterward. Woo!

Good morning - we are in January thaw - going to be 50, woo hoo. Also, I'm really behind here - I have a French Bulldog, Reggie, who is the cutest, sweetest dog on this Earth!
QOTD: I think I've done every diet and taken fen fen (which made my heart race and literally killed people) - I think I had the second most success with Jenny Craig - very structured, food wasn't all that bad and i was not hungry. However, I always gained it back.
We are heading off to the closest casino - 1.5 hours away to see Kathleen Madigan tomorrow night - so tonight will be a nice meal at David Burke Prime. I may just get a soup and eat off my husband's plate. I'm sure he will get a caveman size steak.
B: maybe some eggs, 1/2 english muffin
S: protein bar or make a protein shake with frozen fruit for the ride
D: steak/soup
E: nothing formal, but alot of walking at the casino - my husband is threatening me with a wheelchair since I am still recovering from the TT. There is an outlet there - I could be talked into being wheeled around there lol

Good morning! Today is the last 80 degree day for a while here, but the sun will be out (other than tomorrow), so that's ok.
QOTD: I did the best with Weigh****chers, getting to lifetime at least twice. I even worked for them for minimum wage for 6 months hoping it would keep me at goal (the ONLY time prior to WLS when my weight stayed down more than a few weeks "after" a diet). I did nutrisystem twice too (the food was yuck). Also many times counting calories on my own. In general I was on a diet every 3 years from 20 to 55 except for the last 5 prior to WLS when I just kept going up and couldn't seem to get to a diet that worked.
1 year, 9 months post-op
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Either grilled chicken and salad or taco meat on lettuce.
S: Nut thins and hummus

Good Morning. This week is DRAGGING. I feel like it's been 100 days long already and it's only Thursday.
QOTD: I never lost a huge amount of weight on any diet. I did WW and one time joined a gym and watched what I ate for a while. I would usually loose about 20-30 then fall off the wagon. I never did any real fad diets. The only time I actually lost a meaningful amount of weight was after my lap band surgery which lasted until I got preg with my 3rd.
B - coffee w/HH + 2 hard boiled eggs
S1 - LF string cheese
L - crustless quiche
S2 - Yogurt with Almonds
D - TBD as it is LO night
E - Walking at work
V/W - on track
