Drinking a whole protein shake?
Hello everyone!
Tomorrow will be one month since my VSG. I'm feeling good and have lost 20 pounds since surgery. My concern is that my nutritionist had told me that I would be able to drink an entire premier protein by this point and eat 1.5 ounces of protein. I can't do either in one sitting. I can drink more than half of the protein shake but I just cannot get it all down unless I take 2 hours. Is this OK at this point despite what my nutritionist said? I'm sure they give advice based on what is typical. I'm just scared of pushing more down for fear of throwing it back up or stretching my stomach this early.
I appreciate any input!

How much water or other simple liquid can you drink?
Does it hurt to drink more of the shake, or are you just full? Any problems keeping things down?

I sip on water all day. I usually get 50 - 55 ounces of water a day. I know that is short of the recommended 64 ounces but it is an improvement over where I was 2 weeks ago. I'm working on it still. I occasionally have some decaf tea but I only drink about 4 ounces of it. I mainly drink water and my protein shakes.
I don't have problems keeping things down. I just get full before I get as much as I'm supposed to. I will spend 30 - 40 minutes eating or drinking my shake. Then I feel like I will pop if I eat/drink more. So, I feel like I'm grazing all day. I have something small about every 3 hours.

Thanks. I'm probably worried about nothing. I was told to start at 4-6 ounces of the shake but my meal plan for weeks 4-6 show taking a whole shake for one meal. I specifically asked her if I would be able to drink a whole one by then and she said yes. Then I'm supposed to have 2 meals with 1.5 ounces of a soft protein for each meal. I can't get down that much protein in one meal either. I'm not hurting and I'm meeting my protein goals, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it.
